Dave Grohl<\/a> has vowed to “regain” the trust of his family after fathering a child outside of marriage.<\/p>\n

Dave Grohl has become a dad for the fourth time<\/p>\n

The 55-year-old musician plans to be a “loving and supportive” dad to his new baby girl – but Dave also intends to rebuild trust with his wife Jordyn Blum and their three children.<\/p>\n

The ‘Walking After You’ hitmaker – who has been married to Jordyn since 2003 – wrote on Instagram: “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”<\/p>\n

The Foo Fighters star has three daughters – Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, ten – with Jordyn, and Dave previously admitted that they’ve had a huge influence on him and his songwriting.<\/p>\n

Dave – who was married to Jennifer Youngblood between 1994 and 1997 – told TIME magazine in 2012: “It’s changed everything that I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes.”<\/p>\n

\nDave suggested that his family have actually helped him to become “more compassionate”, and the guitarist claimed that his new outlook is reflected in his songwriting.<\/p>\n

\nThe music icon – who was seen with Jordyn at the Wimbledon tennis championships in July – said: “You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It’s inevitable that that would make its way into your songwriting.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
