Drew Starkey<\/a> is in Luca Guadagnino<\/a>\u2018s new movie Queer<\/em><\/a> with Daniel Craig<\/a>, which has several queer sex scenes.<\/p>\n

While some viewers might find these scenes shocking, Starkey believes they’re important for \u201cbetter understand[ing] ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

Talking to the Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>, Starkey said: \u201cI think as American audiences, we can be very uptight about that stuff, sex scenes, whatever, which is strange.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels a little prudish to be like \u2018ooh if that’s in a movie that taboo’ but if it’s on our phones, it’s fine. [I’m glad] sexuality is coming back to the theaters because I think it’s imperative we integrate sexuality into our stories, it’s the way to better understand ourselves. You learn so much about a person by looking at the way they are intimate with one another,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
