\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Kathy Bates<\/strong><\/a> is headed back to television for her last acting project!<\/p>\n The 76-year-old actress will be starring in the upcoming Matlock<\/strong><\/a> <\/em>reboot series for CBS and it will mark her first TV series since American Horror Story: Apocolypse<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (season eight) in 2018.<\/p>\n In a new interview, Kathy<\/strong> said the new show will be her last, after spending the last 54 years in film and television!<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis is my last dance,\u201d she told The New York Times<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n Kathy<\/strong> was actually ready to retire before Matlock<\/em> came around, after a movie shoot turned sour for her. She really gave her all for the role, and it went underappreciated, so the next day, she called her agents and told them she wanted to retire.<\/p>\n However, a few weeks later and her agents sent her the script for Matlock <\/em>and it moved her so much that she decided to pause those plans.<\/p>\n \u201cEverything I\u2019ve prayed for, worked for, clawed my way up for, I am suddenly able to be asked to use all of it,\u201d Kathy <\/strong>said of the upcoming series. \u201cAnd it\u2019s exhausting.\u201d<\/p>\n Matlock<\/em> is set to premiere in a couple weeks, on Sunday, September 22nd at 8pm ET on CBS.
