\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Drew Starkey<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about the sexuality and intimate scenes in new movie Queer<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n The 30-year-old Outer Banks <\/em>star plays Eugene in the upcoming film, a young student whose sexual ambiguity makes him all the more mysterious and desirable, starring opposite Daniel Craig<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n In the pic, which premiered last week <\/a>at the Venice Film Festival<\/em>, the two actors share intimate scenes between their characters, and Drew<\/strong> recently commented about their first time filming those and bringing sexuality back into movies.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe jumped into it, just grabbing and throwing our bodies on top of one another, rolling around, getting intermingled,\u201d he said, via THR<\/a><\/em>. \u201cI think it unlocked something subconsciously, gave us a level of comfortability and familiarity with each other, so that, everything after that was very easy.\u201d<\/p>\n Drew<\/strong> admitted that playing Eugene \u201cwas very daunting at first, the role scared me because it was different than most of the characters I\u2019ve played. There\u2019s so much subtlety and delicacy to it. It was a real challenge because no one can read him, no one understands him, least of all Lee (Craig<\/strong>). So it was my job to try, as best I could, to understand what was going on inside this guy.\u201d<\/p>\n The actor also talks about how Americans react to intimate scenes.<\/p>\n \u201cI think as American audiences, we can be very uptight about that stuff, sex scenes, whatever, which is strange,\u201d he shared. \u201cIt feels a little prudish to be like \u2018ooh if that\u2019s in a movie that taboo\u2019 but if it\u2019s on our phones, it\u2019s fine. [I\u2019m glad] sexuality is coming back to the theaters because I think it\u2019s imperative we integrate sexuality into our stories, it\u2019s the way to better understand ourselves.
