The supermodel, 60, has caused a backlash from medics and cancer experts after she recently revealed she had been diagnosed with the disease seven years ago \u2013 but opted for alterative remedies after having a lumpectomy at the start of her treatment.<\/p>\n
She has now said in a detailed interview on her techniques on \u201860 Minutes Australia\u2019 about how she believes her disease won\u2019t recur and how she is in a state of \u201cutter wellness\u201d: \u201cI don\u2019t anticipate any and I have no indication that there would be. Zero.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe body has the infinite capacity to heal and I am in utter wellness… fear is something that can really make you ill. So I\u2019m not interested in that.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it’s a wise way to live life, to focus on well-being.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nElle would not be drawn during her TV chat on answering whether she felt she had \u201ccured\u201d her cancer.<\/p>\n
\nInstead she responded: \u201cThe word \u2018cure\u2019 is a very interesting word\u2026 no, I healed through breast cancer. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI had a very formidable team that helped me through it. So now I would, you know I\u2019m clinically in remission \u2013 that\u2019s words that you know most doctors would say.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nElle admitted there is a \u201ctime and place\u201d for traditional, Western medicine but said she chose to adopt a \u201cmore natural lifestyle\u201d because that\u2019s \u201cwhat works\u201d for her.<\/p>\n
\nAfter reports she ignored pleas from dozens of doctors to take conventional cancer treatments, she went on: \u201cListen, I got a lot of advice. I spoke to 32 doctors along the way. It wasn\u2019t an easy decision, but it was a decision that I felt was right for me. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd I have come to the understanding that there are no right or wrong decisions or choices in how people choose to heal. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThis was the decision that not only felt right for me but also worked for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nElle went on to explain that she does get regular medical check ups, including scans and blood tests. <\/p>\n
\nShe had a lumpectomy, which is a surgery to remove cancer from the breast while leaving most of the tissue in place, before she was urged to have a mastectomy with radiation, chemotherapy and hormone therapy.<\/p>\n
\nElle instead underwent eight months of intense therapy with doctors in Phoenix, Arizona, using a team of holistic medicine specialists.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
