\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Lainey Wilson<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about nabbing her acting debut on Yellowstone<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The 30-year-old country hit-maker was cast as Abby for Paramount\u2019s hit Western drama for season five and in a new podcast, revealed she actually almost walked away from it.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n While chatting on the Dutton Rules podcast<\/a>, Lainey <\/strong>says that she almost walked away because of a personal matter \u2013 her dad.<\/p>\n Lainey <\/strong>shared that while everything was going right for her professional, \u201cpersonally, man. Me and my family, we were really going through it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIn the middle of filming of Yellowstone<\/em>, my daddy was in the hospital. And he was in ICU,\u201d she recalled. \u201cHe spent two months in ICU in Houston, fighting for his life \u2014 the doctors told us he\u2019s not gonna make it, there\u2019s a big chance he\u2019s not gonna make it.\u201d<\/p>\n Lainey<\/strong>\u2018s dad Brian<\/strong> (not of Beach Boys fame), was battling a fungal infection that led to a stroke and ultimately, the loss of his left eye<\/a>.<\/p>\n What really got her back on track was actually her dad.<\/p>\n \u201cHe woke up just in time before I had really made up my mind and he said \u2018I don\u2019t care if it was my funeral, if you gotta job that needs to be done you\u2019d better go do it and not come back until it\u2019s done,\u2019\u201d Lainey <\/strong>shared. \u201cI had to pull up my bootstraps.\u201d<\/p>\n After she did get back on set, Lainey <\/strong>shared that many of the cast was constantly checking on her and her father.<\/p>\n \u201cEvery day we were on set they were wanting updates about, \u2018How\u2019s your daddy doing? We\u2019re praying. We\u2019re lifting him up,\u2019\u201d she says. \u201cEvery single person just came up to me and was loving on me as much as they could.
