The couple, who tied the knot<\/a> in November 2017 after five years of dating<\/a>, welcomed their daughter, Genevieve, one year later.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year has been the best year of my life! It had a crazy beginning with a World Series win and the BEST wedding weekend, where I got to marry my best friend and love of my life,\u201d Upton reflected via Instagram in November 2018, right before Genevieve\u2019s birth. \u201cNow to celebrate our love and our first year of marriage we are preparing to welcome a new addition to our family. Days later, the Other Woman<\/em> actress and the MLB star welcomed their bundle of joy. \u201cGenevieve Upton Verlander \ud83d\udc97,\u201d the new mom captioned a black-and-white close-up of their newborn\u2019s cheek and hand. \u201c11.7.18.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the years since, Upton and Verlander have settled into their roles as parents<\/a> while they\u2019ve watched their little girl \u2014 whom they affectionately call Vivi \u2014 grow into a toddler.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Kate\u2019s] been the most amazing woman and mom,\u201d the Houston Astros pitcher<\/a> exclusively gushed to Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> in March 2019 about watching his wife with their daughter. \u201cI knew that she would set a great example for our daughter, no matter what. It\u2019s the person that she is, it\u2019s the person who I married. I\u2019ve always appreciated her for her strength.\u201d<\/p>\n
