But as they sprint to election day, Vice President Kamala Harris<\/strong> and running mate Tim Walz<\/strong> are looking to correct the record: Trump \u201chas made it clear how he stands,\u201d Walz said in a Labor Day campaign stop in Milwaukee Monday, pointing to the former president\u2019s promise enact new tax cuts for \u201crich as hell\u201d donors<\/a> if reelected.<\/p>\n \u201cYou tell me who in Wisconsin is sitting around saying, \u2018Damn, I wish they\u2019d give billionaires tax cuts and screw me over. Damn, I wish they\u2019d take my health care away. I wish they\u2019d underfund my public school. I wish they would make my job more difficult and more dangerous. And then, at the end of the day, I wish they\u2019d make me work till I\u2019m 75 years old,\u2019\u201d Walz said. \u201cNo one\u2019s saying that. I am<\/em> the pocket.\u2019 If you want to attack me for standing up for collective bargaining for fair wages, for safe working conditions, for heath care and retirement. You roll the damn dice. But he also seemed to make that a secondary component of his reelection campaign, which was focused primarily on the threat Trump poses to democracy\u2014just as it was in 2020. Harris isn\u2019t ignoring that very real danger, of course.
