Jax Taylor<\/a> is updating fans on his health and life after spending a month in an in-patient facility\u2014the 45-year-old recently shared news about a diagnosis he received after checking into treatment in late July.<\/p>\n

\u201cA little over a month ago, I checked into an intensive inpatient treatment facility scared of the unknown and what I would find out about myself,\u201d the Valley star captioned a Sept. 2, 2024, Instagram post<\/a>. \u201cAfter many years of knowing something was wrong but not knowing exactly what it was, I recently learned that I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reality star opened up about his feelings, saying, \u201cIt’s been a lot to process and an emotional time for me, however I’ve come home to my son with a new found sense of peace. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared for the future but my focus is just trying to be a better version of myself than I was yesterday. Mental health is a lifelong battle of not letting it control you but rather you learning to control it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jax, who’s currently going through a divorce from fellow Vanderpump Rules<\/em> alum Brittany Cartwright<\/a>, finds motivation in their 3-year-old son Cruz<\/strong>. In late July, he posted a photo kissing Cruz’s cheek with the caption, \u201cWorking on getting better for you and myself buddy, I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the Bravo star stated that Jax had entered a mental health facility. \u201cJax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast,\u201d the rep said on July 30, 2024. \u201cThis is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

In late August, Brittany filed for divorce after five years of marriage. She later explained her decision to fans. \u201cMany have said online they think this has been a publicity stunt for the show or to garner ratings, and it’s the furthest thing from that,\u201d Brittany said on the Aug. 30, 2024, episode of their podcast When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany. \u201cMy decision to file wasn’t made lightly or quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n
