Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s new racehorse, the coincidentally named Swift Delivery, had a stellar performance at the Toronto Cup Stakes.<\/p>\n

Swift Delivery, ridden by jockey Patrick Husbands<\/strong>, finished in second place on Saturday, August 31 at the competition held at the Woodbine Racetrack. Swift Delivery lost behind horse Piper\u2019s Factor.<\/p>\n

Kelce, 34, recently bought a significant share<\/a> of the thoroughbred.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is great for racing,\u201d the horse\u2019s trainer, Mark Casse<\/strong>, said in a press release<\/a> earlier this month. \u201cThis isn\u2019t just about Travis Kelce buying a horse \u2014 he bought a good horse.\u201d<\/p>\n

Casse added, \u201cWe bought him as a yearling. His sire, Not This Time, is one of the best in the country. Patrick and [assistant trainer] David Adams<\/strong> were very high on this horse, but he just didn\u2019t perform as a 2-year-old. We gelded him in the wintertime and from that point on, he\u2019s trained and performed very well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift Delivery is owned by Team Valor International with both Kelce and the Zoldan family recently acquiring shares. The Zoldans own Phantom Fireworks and even invited the Kansas City Chiefs tight end to the Kentucky Derby<\/a> earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a Derby guy now, man. It was so much fun,\u201d Kelce quipped during a May episode of his \u201cNew Heights\u201d experience about the \u201cdope experience\u201d at the racetrack before praising the Zoldans and Team Valor. \u201cThey have been ingrained in the Derby for 30 years. The Zoldans are rightfully treated like royalty there. They made it easy and fun to come out there and enjoy the Derby.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelce also wanted to get in the Derby spirit<\/a> and bet on the horses.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was a beginner. I didn\u2019t get too far into that,\u201d he recalled. \u201cI just wanted to f\u2013king put the money that I brought in there and throw it down on like one horse and just get f\u2013king pumped if that thing was even close. And sure enough, coming around that corner, you see that thing \u2026 come up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift Delivery wasn\u2019t in the running at the May competition, which perhaps would have made the decision to throw money down easier. The horse, of course, shares a name with Kelce\u2019s girlfriend, Taylor Swift<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
