Serhant (the person) of course starred for years on <em>Million Dollar Listing New York<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Clearly a kindred spirit to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/03\/christine-quinn-husband-arrest-domestic-violence-selling-sunset\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Selling Sunset<\/a><\/em>, this series follows luxury real estate properties in a place with more skyscrapers and much better weather: Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>Thus far, the show\u2019s only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/tv-and-radio\/article\/2024\/jun\/28\/owning-manhattan-review-please-stop-putting-real-estate-agents-on-tv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">critics<\/a> seem to be folks who either don\u2019t like reality TV or specifically don\u2019t like real estate agents on reality TV. That\u2019s fair. But the show obviously has a hefty audience of fans, so not everyone agrees.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Owning Manhattan | Official Trailer | Netflix\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OfnFU99-uds?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><em>Owning Manhattan<\/em> debuted its entire first season on June 28, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, these days, an \u201centire season\u201d tends to be agonizingly short. Americans used to make fun of Brits for miniseries-length seasons, but now we\u2019re all living in that reality.<\/p>\n<p>The truth of the matter is that 8 episodes is simply not enough for most shows. Especially not for <em>Owning Manhattan<\/em>\u2018s eager fanbase, who are already itching for more just weeks after Season 1 dropped.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ryan Loses a Deal | Owning Manhattan | Netflix\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bypZoRy-_60?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h-will-owning-manhattan-get-a-season-2\">Will \u2018Owning Manhattan\u2019 Get a Season 2?<\/h2>\n<p>Short answer: YES! Long answer\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>Season 1 had plenty of hallmarks of a solid first season of reality television. <\/p>\n<p>Obviously, the initial draw \u2014 before viewers get to know the people involved \u2014 is the high-end apartments.<\/p>\n<p>But how many first seasons feature a dramatic firing? (We suspect that a second season of <em>Owning Manhattan<\/em> will not include Jonathan!)<\/p>\n<p>Viewers responded to the drama. During its first week, Netflix audiences streamed over 512 million minutes of the show, <em>Variety<\/em> reported at the time. A few weeks later, they were also the ones to announce the show had been picked up for another season. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a lot to take in \u2014 it\u2019s a global hit. \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/tv\/news\/owning-manhattan-renewed-season-2-netflix-1236117349\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Owning Manhattan<\/a>\u2019 is unlike anything else on TV, we basically invented a new format. I\u2019m ecstatic, but it\u2019s also overwhelming, in a good way. I can\u2019t wait for what\u2019s to come,\u201d Serhant told the magazine. <\/p>\n<p>Series executive producers and\u00a0World of Wonder\u00a0co-founders\u00a0Fenton Bailey\u00a0and\u00a0Randy Barbato\u00a0agreed.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled with the news that our partners and friends at Netflix are moving forward with a Season 2 of \u2018Owning Manhattan.\u2019 Ryan Serhant and the entire cast and production team put their souls into making an unforgettable series that combines compelling business, extraordinary production values and endless heart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ah! There\u2019s a hint about the cast in there! Who exactly will be returning. <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-owning-manhattan-season-2-cast\">\u2018Owning Manhattan\u2019 Season 2 Cast<\/h2>\n<p>Members of the cast had spoken excitedly about a second season well before the announcement. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have filmed some things that we weren\u2019t able to continue with by the time shooting ended,\u201d Serhant told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.housebeautiful.com\/lifestyle\/entertainment\/a61300643\/owning-manhattan-ryan-serhant-netflix-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">House Beautiful<\/a><\/em>. \u201c[They] didn\u2019t make sense for season one. I think [they] are primed for season two and are intense, to say the least.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When speaking to <em>Variety<\/em>, he was able to share more. It sounds like 3 fan favorites will all be back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTricia Lee and Jess Markowski\u2019s backstories are a lot. Though Netflix renewed <em>Owning Manhattan<\/em> for a second season, Season 2 will still be months away.<\/p>\n<p>It may come as a shock to some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/07\/kourtney-kardashian-sons-against-travis-barker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reality TV<\/a> viewers, but on average, these episodes air about 8 months after filming. And there are things to consider, from cast salary to shakeups to episode order and more, before anyone can iron out a renewal.<\/p>\n<p>That said, Ryan Serhant has received dozens of new applications following Season 1 from people who hope to work for his agency. So there\u2019s no chance of running out of hopeful reality TV stars.<\/p>\n<p>Just have to wait it out!
