Speaking to People Magazine<\/em>, Mariah shared the tragic news with her fans.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cMy heart is broken that I\u2019ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed,\u201d adds Mariah. \u201cI appreciate everyone\u2019s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.\u201d<\/p>\n
