Brown\/Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h-season-50-cast-a-celebration-of-survivor-legends\">Season 50<strong> Cast: A Celebration of \u2018Survivor\u2019 Legends<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a data-wpil-monitor-id=\"319\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/07\/survivor-47-spoilers-details\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Season 50 of <\/a><em><a data-wpil-monitor-id=\"319\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/07\/survivor-47-spoilers-details\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Survivor<\/a> <\/em>is shaping up to be an epic reunion of some of the most memorable contestants from the show\u2019s past.<\/p>\n<p>Just like season 40, fans can expect a mix of mostly returning players and perhaps some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2023\/01\/meredith-marks-yes-the-real-housewives-of-salt-lake-city-needs-fresh-faces\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"317\">fresh faces<\/a> for the 50th anniversary. In short, Jeff Probst is keen to make it an unforgettable season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re trying to figure out who\u2019s gonna play in <em>Survivor 50<\/em>,\u201d he shared with <em>Variety<\/em> ahead of the<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/tv\/awards\/jeff-probst-day-off-survivor-1236111237\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> season 47<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know it\u2019s gonna be returning players. We started out with a list of around 200, like, every person we would like to see, regardless of whether they want to do it or not. And then we got the list down to 125 and now I have it down to around 100.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0While Jeff is carefully curating selection of participants, the final roster will remain under wraps for a long time, given that we\u2019re a few years away from the season even airing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Still, viewers should prepare themselves for\u00a0 fan-favorites who made a significant mark on the show to make a comeback, if Jeff has anything to say about it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u201cFifty\u2019s gotta be a celebration. Brown\/Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h-what-will-be-the-theme-survivor-season-50\">What Will Be The Theme \u2018Survivor\u2019 Season 50?<\/h2>\n<p>Ah, a good question.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Season 50 is set to be an extraordinary chapter in <em>Survivor\u2019s<\/em> legacy, but many wonder if the show will feature regular game play or a twist.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Longtime fans will remember season 20\u2019s <em>Heroes vs. Villain<\/em>s and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2023\/12\/90-day-the-single-life-trailer-teases-fan-favorites-and-villains-on-season-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"318\">season 16\u2019s Fans vs. Favorites<\/a>. Then, most recently,<em> there <\/em>was season 40\u2019s Winners at War, which brought back 20 previous winners for a chance to repeat their success and net a $2 million prize.<\/p>\n<p>But if there is a theme for the 50th, Jeff\u2019s not ready to share. So, he\u2019s playing coy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have not come up with our idea for 50 yet,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/survivor-jeff-probst-no-plan-for-season-50-8637112\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Probst told <em>Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, we think about it. We still have 47, 48, and 49, and you might think I\u2019m deflecting, but I don\u2019t. To me, those are stress-inducing problems. What are we going to do in 47? 48? What are we going to do in 49?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen, if we get to 50, what are we going to do? And how do you top <em>Winners at War<\/em>? What is the idea that would be fun to do? I don\u2019t know. We\u2019re working on it, dreaming about it a lot. And we had a very clear theme: We\u2019re going to give you every weapon we have and you all battle it out. Somebody\u2019s going to end up bloody but victorious,\u201d explained Jeff.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo \u2018Survivor\u2019 50 is not going to be that. Fifty\u2019s gotta be a celebration.
