One of musician Justin Bieber<\/strong>\u2019s first hits was his breakup song \u201cBaby,\u201d released (brace for it) over 14 years ago<\/a> on his studio debut, My World 2.0<\/em>. But this week, that lament became an expression of joy, as his wife, Hailey Bieber<\/strong> (nee Baldwin), gave birth to the couple\u2019s first child.<\/p>\n The couple broke the news via Instagram, which has long been their mouthpiece of choice<\/a>. A photo of an infant\u2019s foot, stroked by a French-tipped nail, was captioned<\/a> \u201cWELCOME HOME JACK BLUES BIEBER,\u201d on Justin\u2019s grid Friday, a bear emoji punctuating the all-caps announcement. Shortly thereafter, wife Hailey shared the post via her Instagram stories<\/a>.<\/p>\n Hailey<\/a> and Justin Bieber also used Instagram to tell the world that they were expecting in May<\/a>, posting a carousel of photos depicting a meadow-set vow renewal officiated by Judah Smith<\/strong>, the beleaguered pastor<\/a> of Seattle-area megachurch Churchome<\/a>. In the photos, Hailey wore a dress that appeared to feature her pregnant belly, and in some, Justin cupped her rounded stomach. In a subsequent set of images<\/a>, he seemed to confirm the news, captioning one photo: \u201cThey wish baby, they wish.\u201d<\/p>\n This is the first child for the couple, who will celebrate their sixth anniversary<\/a> in September. Beyond that, there\u2019s not too much else we know: Neither Justin\u2019s nor Hailey\u2019s representatives have responded to Vanity Fair<\/em>\u2019s request for comment. That\u2019s not a surprise, as Hailey\u2014who grew up in the spotlight as the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin<\/strong>\u2014 has been understandably media-shy, even telling the Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a> in 2022 that journalism \u201chas always been a disgusting thing.\u201d In a GQ interview<\/a> last year, she said that if and when she got pregnant, \u201cyou,<\/em>\u00a0as in the internet, will be the last to know.\u201d It\u2019s reasonable to assume, in that case, that the same holds true for the actual blessed event.<\/p>\n But one can glean from past remarks that she\u2019s already anxious about Jack Blues\u2019s future. \u201cI want kids so bad, but I get scared,\u201d she told the Sunday Time<\/a>s in 2023. \u201cIt\u2019s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends. I can\u2019t imagine having to confront people saying things about a child.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe can only do the best we can to raise them,\u201d she concluded. \u201cAs long as they feel loved and safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
