In April 2023, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were kissing at Coachella.<\/p>\n
Different couples have different boundaries with kissing and sex. But unless there\u2019s a whole lot that we don\u2019t know about Sabrina, Shawn, and Camila, it was pretty safe for fans to assume that this meant that he and Sabrina were over.<\/p>\n
It sounds like Sabrina Carpenter is shading Camila Cabello; is this a feud?<\/h2>\n In \u201cCoincidence,\u201d it sounds like Sabrina is referring to an unnamed woman picking up on Sabrina\u2019s relationship \u2026 and swooping in to interfere.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe second I put my head on your chest\/She knew, she\u2019s got a real sixth sense\/Now her names comes up once, then it comes up twice\/And without her even bein\u2019 here, she\u2019s back in your life,\u201d Sabrina\u2019s lyrics accuse.<\/p>\n

It could be, as the song title mentions, an astounding <\/em>\u201ccoincidence.\u201d<\/p>\nBut it\u2019s clear that Sabrina has noticed Shawn and Camila\u2019s rekindled romance. She\u2019s been liking posts about them on social media here and there.<\/p>\n
Camila Cabello has not discussed Sabrina Carpenter and Shawn Mendes\u2019 history. She has, to her credit, put forward \u201cEspresso\u201d as Song of the Summer. This one isn\u2019t about an alleged Sabrina Carpenter and Camila Cabello feud at all. Instead, it takes aim at a self-obsessed know-it-all mansplainer who\u2019s obnoxiously pretentious.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not necessarily about Shawn Mendes. There are various internet theories pointing the finger at other guys who might be as insufferable as the lyrics describe.<\/p>\n
But \u201cI promise the mushrooms aren\u2019t changing your life\u201d could, potentially, be about Shawn Mendes. He has opened up about using psychedelics and his interest in holistic medicine.<\/p>\n
During a lengthy interview with Zane Lowe<\/a>, Sabrina Carpenter spoke \u2014 vaguely \u2014 about what had fueled some of her lyrics.<\/p>\n\u201cI thought about some of these relationships. How some of them were the shortest I\u2019ve ever had and they affected me the most. And I thought about the way that I respond to situations,\u201d Sabrina explained \u201cSometimes it is very nice, and sometimes it\u2019s not very nice.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sabrina added: \u201cHence songs like \u2018Dumb & Poetic\u2019, a gentle acoustic ballad that\u2019s also a blistering takedown of a guy who masks his sleazy tendencies with therapy buzzwords and highbrow record collection.\u201d<\/p>\n
Whether that\u2019s Shawn Mendes or someone else \u2026 ouch<\/em>. Happy to hear her give this dude a good roasting. It sounds like he needs it.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
