No, the <\/span>Hunger Games<\/a> aren’t over just yet. There’s a fifth installment\u00a0in the series coming out next year, and it’s another prequel, following 2020’s <\/span>The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n Sunrise on the Reaping<\/a><\/em>\u00a0revisits the world of Panem 24 years before the events of the original\u00a0<\/span>Hunger Games<\/span><\/em>, whose film adaptation famously starred <\/span>Jennifer Lawrence<\/a>, <\/span>Josh Hutcherson<\/a> and <\/span>Liam Hemsworth<\/a>. It starts\u00a0on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, AKA the Second Quarter Quell.<\/span><\/p>\n While the\u00a0<\/span>book<\/a> doesn’t come out until March 18, 2025, fans can already pre-order\u00a0the hardcover <\/span>Sunrise on the Reaping<\/span><\/em> at Amazon. Even better, the next <\/span>Hunger Games<\/span><\/em> book is currently on sale for just $22. And yes, there will be a <\/span>film adaptation<\/a> of this one too, to be released on\u00a0November 20, 2026!<\/span><\/p>\n “With <\/span>Sunrise on the Reaping<\/span><\/em>, I was inspired by David Hume\u2019s idea of implicit submission and, in his words, \u2018the easiness with which the many are governed by the few,\u2019” <\/span>Collins says<\/a> in a Scholastic press release. “The story also lent itself to a deeper dive into the use of propaganda and the power of those who control the narrative. The question \u2018Real or not real?\u2019 seems more pressing to me every day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n A special edition of the fifth <\/span>Hunger Games<\/span><\/em> book is also available for pre-order at <\/span>Target<\/a>.
