Miranda Lambert<\/strong><\/a> has been a country queen for decades and now she\u2019ll have the 2024 People\u2019s Choice Country Awards<\/a> \u201cCountry Icon\u201d trophy to prove it.<\/p>\n

NBC and Peacock announced Lambert, 40, as this year\u2019s recipient of the coveted title on Thursday, August 22. Lambert will be honored as the \u201cCountry Icon\u201d during the Thursday, September 26, broadcast, which will take place at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.<\/p>\n

\u201cA tour de force in country music for more than 20 years, Miranda Lambert\u2019s groundbreaking albums<\/a> continue to capture the hearts of fans around the world,\u201d Jen Neal<\/strong>, the executive vice president of live events and specials at NBCUniversal Entertainment, said in a press release. \u201cWe\u2019re so excited to celebrate her career, fierce individualism and innovation in the industry with the Country Icon Award<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMiranda Lambert has been unstoppable since she hit the music scene in 2003 as a contestant on Nashville Star. Since then, the country superstar has released seven solo albums, four albums with her group, Pistol Annies, and won countless awards for her undeniably catchy tunes. \u201cI haven\u2019t changed from Lindale at all,\u201d she told Refinery29 [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The three-time Grammy winner<\/a> will be recognized for her decades-long career<\/a>, including nine studio albums, her fierce female empowerment approach to music and chart-topping success.<\/p>\n

Lambert will take the stage to receive the People\u2019s Choice Country Award trophy two weeks after her latest album, Postcards From Texas<\/em>, is released. The record hits shelves on Friday, September 13, following the release of her eighth studio album, Palomino<\/em>, in 2022.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach song is a letter from me to you \ud83d\udc8c,\u201d Lambert wrote via Instagram<\/a> in July, announcing Postcards From Texas<\/em>\u2019 drop date.<\/p>\n

Lambert won\u2019t be the only legend in attendance at the awards show<\/a>. Shania Twain<\/strong><\/a> was previously announced as the host for the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cCountry has some of the most passionate fans in music and us artists are so lucky to be supported in doing what we love,\u201d Twain, 58, said in a July press release, celebrating her role in the show. \u201cI am honored to host an award show that celebrates these awesome fans.
