It\u2019s been nearly four months since Jennifer Garner<\/strong><\/a> and her longtime partner, John Miller<\/strong>, were photographed together \u2013 and a source exclusively tells Life & Style<\/em> that Ben Affleck<\/strong><\/a> is to blame for the distance in the pair\u2019s relationship.<\/p>\n Jennifer, 52, and John, 46, \u201chave been on a break,\u201d the source reveals. And, according to the source, it\u2019s no coincidence that their six-year romance began to suffer around the same time Jen\u2019s ex-husband began leaning on her this spring, as his marriage to Jennifer Lopez<\/strong> crumbled.<\/p>\n \u201cJen\u2019s had so much going on with Ben, it just took a toll<\/a>,\u201d explains the source, \u201cand she and John ended up going their separate ways. It wasn\u2019t her choice.\u201d<\/p>\n J. Lo, 55, filed for divorce<\/a> from Ben, 52, on Wednesday, August 20, and listed their date of separation as April 26. While the Marry Me<\/em> star spent most of the summer on the east coast, Ben has been in Los Angeles, where he\u2019s been spotted spending time with his ex-wife, whom he shares three children with.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not the first time that the 13 Going on 30<\/em> star has been a source of support for Ben following their 2015 divorce. In 2018, just months after she started dating John, Jennifer was by Ben\u2019s side when he checked into rehab for alcoholism. In fact, the exes have remained so close that she even had the security code to let herself into the rental home<\/a> he was staying in amid his separation from J. Lo.<\/p>\n Ben moved out of his and J. Lo\u2019s L.A. mansion in May and began renting a $100,000-a-month pad in Brentwood, California. The estranged couple put their shared home on the market in July and Ben purchased a new home for $30 million at the end of that month.<\/p>\n \u201cBen\u2019s been turning to Jen [Garner] for advice and support, and that\u2019s been a big source of annoyance for John,\u201d the insider reveals. \u201cHe doesn\u2019t enjoy competing with her ex-husband for her attention.\u201d<\/p>\n The Stanford Law grad-turned-businessman, who runs a chain of CaliBurger restaurants worldwide as the CEO of CaliGroup, has been friendly with Ben over the years. \u201cJohn likes Ben and tries to be understanding, but there\u2019s only so much a guy can take,\u201d explains the source.<\/p>\n The Air<\/em> star \u201cbasically made Jen into his personal therapist once he started having issues with J. Lo. She\u2019s who he\u2019d run to<\/a>. But it got even worse after he left J. Lo. When he moved out, he got so incredibly needy. It was one crisis after another, and when he\u2019s in that state, Jen is always there for him without fail. John has finally had enough.\u201d<\/p>\n In fact, \u201csome friends have been saying it\u2019s all Ben\u2019s fault,\u201d the insider adds. \u201cJen can be very easy on Ben, but privately, even she admits he\u2019s taken up a lot of her time \u2013 especially because they\u2019ve had so much parenting to deal with.\u201d<\/p>\n
