And thanks to a lifetime of bad behavior, he might soon break his own record for most indictments by a sitting or former POTUS, which currently stands at one.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2023\/04\/05\/trump-georgia-election-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Washington Post<\/em><\/a><em>,<\/em> Fulton County District attorney <strong>Fani Willis<\/strong> is \u201cexpected to announce in coming weeks whether she will file charges in connection to efforts by Trump and his allies to overturn the state\u2019s 2020 presidential election results.\u201d While it\u2019s possible Willis will not file any charges at all, or will but they won\u2019t be against Trump, there is obviously a chance she chooses to pull an <strong>Alvin Bragg<\/strong> and go after the ex-president. For one thing, the special grand jury impaneled by Willis last year reportedly heard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/2023\/03\/donald-trump-fulton-county-special-grand-jury-recording\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at least two phone calls<\/a> in which the then president pressured local officials to overturn the election results in Georgia, including the infamous one in which Trump demanded state secretary <strong>Brad Raffensperger<\/strong> \u201cfind\u201d the exact number of votes he needed to turn his loss to\u00a0<strong>Joe Biden<\/strong>\u00a0into a win.\u00a0For another, when asked about the recommendations the group made re: which individuals should be charged, jury forewoman\u00a0<strong>Emily Kohrs<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/02\/21\/us\/trump-georgia-grand-jury-indictments.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a>\u00a0<em>The New York Times<\/em> it was \u201cnot a short list,\u201d adding, of whether or not Trump was on it: \u201cYou\u2019re not going to be shocked. It\u2019s not rocket science.\u201d Speaking to\u00a0<em>The Atlanta Journal-Constitution,<\/em>\u00a0another juror\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/politics\/exclusive-behind-the-scenes-of-the-trump-grand-jury\/6CXLKTFMKNDU7O6TER4B7UTZPE\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0of the group\u2019s report: \u201cA lot\u2019s gonna come out sooner or late. And it\u2019s gonna be massive. It\u2019s gonna be massive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">In a court filing, attorneys for Trump\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/03\/20\/us\/trumps-georgia-special-grand-jury.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">demanded<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/2023\/02\/donald-trump-georgia-grand-jury-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">final report<\/a>\u00a0from the special grand jury be quashed, claiming that the \u201cresults of the investigation cannot be relied upon and, therefore, must be suppressed given the constitutional violations.\u201d His lawyers also claimed that Willis engaged in \u201cinstances of forensic misconduct and improper extrajudicial activity,\u201d and should be removed from the case. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/2023\/04\/melania-trump-donald-trump-arraignment-speech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">speech at Mar-a-Lago last night<\/a>, Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/politics\/as-he-fights-nyc-charges-trump-calls-for-fulton-fake-case-to-be-dropped\/BUS6MZAYLRFZJDYQWH5Q7WWROM\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">called<\/a> Willis, who is Black, a \u201cracist,\u201d and insisted his call to Raffensperger was \u201cperfect\u201d and \u201cnothing was said wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Of course, the Fulton County case isn\u2019t the only one that could result in charges on top of the ones out of New York. The ex-president is also being investigated by the Justice Department for both his attempt to overturn the election and the insurrection that followed and his handling of classified documents. On Sunday, the <em>Post<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national-security\/2023\/04\/02\/trump-mar-a-lago-obstruction-classified\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> that special counsel <strong>Jack Smith,<\/strong> who is overseeing the probes, had uncovered \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/2023\/04\/donald-trump-classified-documents-possible-obstruction-of-justice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">significant<\/a>\u201d evidence that Trump may have obstructed justice in the documents case.
