Michael Keaton<\/a> doesn\u2019t care \u201cone way or another\u201d about his \u2018Batgirl\u2019 movie being shelved.<\/p>\n

The 72-year-old actor \u2013 probably best known for starring as Batman<\/a> in Tim Burton\u2019s 1989 movie take on the vigilante \u2013 reprised his role as the caped crusader for the film before the Warner Bros. Discovery studio axed the project in 2022, despite it almost being finished. <\/p>\n

But Michael told GQ about not being fussed about it being pulled as he got paid anyway: \u201cNo, I didn\u2019t care one way or another. Big, fun, nice check.\u201d<\/p>\n

Actress Leslie Grace, 29, starred as Batgirl in the canned film, which also featured JK Simmons, 69, Brendan Fraser, 55, and other household names.<\/p>\n

But Michael did sympathise with the project\u2019s directors Adil El Arbi, 36, and Bilall Fallah, 38, saying: \u201cI like those boys. They\u2019re nice guys. I pull for them. I want them to succeed, and I think they felt very badly, and that made me feel bad. \u201cMe? I’m good.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nAdil and Bilall made this year\u2019s \u2018Bad Boys: Ride or Die\u2019 starring Will Smith, 55, and his regular sidekick in the cop-buddy franchise, 59-year-old Martin Lawrence.<\/p>\n

\nThey spoke out about the cancellation of \u2018Batgirl\u2019 at the time it was axed, saying they were \u201csaddened\u201d and \u201cshocked\u201d at the studio\u2019s decision to axe it.<\/p>\n

\nThe pair said: \u201cOur amazing cast and crew did a tremendous job and worked so hard to bring Batgirl to life.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWe are forever grateful to have been part of that team. (It) was a dream to work with such fantastic actors.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nThey also praised lead actress Leslie\u2019s \u201cpassion, dedication and humanity\u201d and added: \u201cIn any case, as huge fans of Batman since we were little kids, it was a privilege and an honour to have been a part of the DC Extended Universe, even if it was for a brief moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
