Patrick Mahomes<\/strong><\/a> had been trying to get his Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a> to ditch his buzz cut for years, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. However, it seems like all it took was a little encouragement from Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been trying to get him to grow his hair out and all of a sudden, Taylor gets him to do it,\u201d Patrick, 28, said in an audio clip<\/a> shared from the Chiefs\u2019 training camp on Tuesday, August 13.<\/p>\n In a clip posted by the Chiefs on Instagram<\/a>, Travis, 34, could be seen sporting a grown-out \u2018do, some five o\u2019clock shadow and a full mustache as he arrived to practice alongside Alex Smith, who played as the Chiefs\u2019 quarterback from 2013 to 2017. While Taylor, 34, might be loving the longer look, that doesn\u2019t mean she wasn\u2019t also a fan of his buzz cut<\/a>.<\/p>\n In February, Travis\u2019 barber Patrick Regan<\/strong><\/a> went into detail regarding how he gave the Super Bowl champ his signature style after the look went viral and barbers across America were inundated with requests for the \u201cTravis Kelce.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cJust a simple #3 [blade] on the top, bald on the sides,\u201d Patrick wrote via Instagram. \u201cBarbers [have done] this cut all day, every day, for the past 100 years. Just shows how big of an icon @killatrav is.\u201d<\/p>\n The barber reiterated his feelings about Travis\u2019 influence on pop culture during an interview with Good Morning America<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe funny thing is, it\u2019s such a simple haircut, you know? Barbers have been doing this haircut for centuries,\u201d Patrick explained on January 31. \u201cIt\u2019s something barbers do every single day. I think it just goes to show how big of an icon that he is that a simple haircut can be named like the Travis Kelce haircut. It\u2019s pretty cool.\u201d<\/p>\n Patrick also confirmed that Taylor was a fan of the shorter style, as well.<\/p>\n \u201cTaylor loves the haircut,\u201d Patrick told Fox News<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on February 1. \u201cShe has watched me cut his hair a bunch of times and always compliments it after.\u201d<\/p>\n Taylor even took some photos of the \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast host in the barber\u2019s seat ahead of the Chiefs\u2019 game against the Buffalo Bills<\/a>. Patrick shared the image on Instagram<\/a> and included other photos of Travis and Taylor, including one of the \u201cI Can Do It With a Broken Heart\u201d singer planting a kiss on her man\u2019s cheek.<\/p>\n \u201cThanks @taylorswift for the Pics of the Gameday Freshy for @killatrav,\u201d Patrick wrote via Instagram on December 11, 2023, giving Taylor credit for the first picture. \u201cI had an Amazing Time at Yesterdays Game.\u201d<\/p>\n The Ohio native and Patrick met six years ago when Travis was training in Florida where Patrick is based. Travis reached out to Patrick via Instagram and asked for his services. Even though Patrick\u2019s shop didn\u2019t open until 10 a.m., the barber was more than happy to accommodate Travis four hours early.<\/p>\n Since then, Patrick has traveled to Kansas City each week during the NFL season to give Travis a fresh cut.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
