\n‘Alien: Romulus’ Ends ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’s’ Three-Week Box Office Reign With $41.5 Million Debut https:\/\/t.co\/iEKTnBAnEA<\/a><\/p>\n

In news that should surprise no one, Alien: Romulus<\/b> has scared its way up all the way to the number one slot this week with a decent 41.5 million take. This is the second highest B.O. start in the long running series, as it also collected $66.7 million at the international box office for a global start of $108.2 million. The movie has been well received by critics (it holds an 82% \u201cfresh\u201d rating on Rotten Tomatoes) and audiences (who awarded the film a \u201cB+\u201d grade on CinemaScore). H.R. Giger would be proud.<\/p>\n

5:<\/b> Everything old is new again, and people are here for rereleases. A 15th-anniversary re-release of \u201cCoraline,\u201d<\/b> Laika\u2019s beloved stop-motion animation fantasy film, takes the 5th slot with $8.9 million from 1,535 venues. It has grossed roughly $11.3 million since returning to theaters on Thursday.<\/p>\n
4:<\/b> Disaster film Twisters<\/b> has spun its way into 4th place this week $9.8 million from 3,483 locations in its fifth weekend in theaters, dropping just 35% from its prior outing. Being available for VOD this week really didn’t hurt tickets sales that much, and so far it’s grossed a very healthy $238.4 million in North America and $333.4 million worldwide.<\/p>\n
3:<\/b> Dropping its box office take in half, “It Ends With Us”<\/b> sails happily into the third slot this week, and is is nearing the $100 million mark domestically with $97.7 million to date. Globally, \u201cIt Ends With Us\u201d has earned $180 million after only 10 days of release, which isn’t chump change. <\/p>\n
2:<\/b> In other news that should also surprise no one, \u201cDeadpool & Wolverine\u201d<\/b> made a respectful 29 million this week, securing its second place ranking. Even with a 46% dip this week its still earned a mammoth $545.8 million in North America and $596.8 million internationally to date.<\/p>\n
