It\u2019s a big year for Ashlee Simpson<\/strong><\/a>. July marked the 20th anniversary of her debut album, Autobiography<\/em>, and in August, she celebrates her 10th wedding anniversary with her musician husband, Evan Ross<\/strong>. In November, her son Bronx (dad is ex-husband Pete Wentz<\/strong>) turns 16, and right before that, on October 3, she hits the big 4-0.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a lot happening,\u201d the mom of three exclusively tells Life & Style<\/em> (she and Evan, 35, share daughter Jagger, 9, and son Ziggy, 3).And while she doesn\u2019t have a big bash planned yet, she\u2019s excited about the milestone: \u201cThe 40s are great! I\u2019m looking forward to them.\u201d<\/p>\n Here, Ashlee, who recently partnered with Dairy Queen, talks to Life & Style\u2019s<\/em> Lindsay Hoffman about her next chapter, big sister Jessica\u2019s parenting tips and her go-to karaoke song.<\/p>\n What are you hoping the next decade of your life will bring?<\/strong> What\u2019s your new music like?<\/strong> How does it feel to celebrate the anniversary of Autobiography<\/em>?<\/strong> What do your kids think?<\/strong> How are the kids?<\/strong> Do you see them following in your footsteps?<\/strong> Does Jessica give you any parenting advice?<\/strong> Do you have girls\u2019 nights?<\/strong> You\u2019ve been married 10 years. AS: I love spending time with my family and my kids. I\u2019ll be putting music out, bringing them on tour.<\/p>\n
AS: I\u2019m more grown-up, so the subjects are different, but I\u2019m still me.<\/p>\n
AS<\/strong>: Great. It\u2019s wild that it\u2019s been 20 years. It\u2019s really fun to look back at those amazing moments. Even \u200b\u200bwith my kids, [we\u2019ve been] looking back at the trends and what we were wearing during that time.<\/p>\n
AS<\/strong>: They like it! Y2K was like, \u201cHow many belts do you wear? How many bracelets do you wear?\u201d<\/p>\n
AS<\/strong>: They\u2019re all getting so big. Jagger turned 9. She\u2019s doing dancing camps and having all the ice cream. Bronx got his driver\u2019s<\/a> permit. We\u2019ll be looking at cars for him.<\/p>\n
AS<\/strong>: I\u2019m open to whatever they want to do. For me, dancing and music gave me such good discipline. My daughter is interested in all that, so I think it\u2019s just about enjoying it and seeing where life takes you when you\u2019re older.<\/p>\n
AS: At times. I\u2019ll be like, \u201cOh, what do you think this cold is?\u201d She loves to be like the doctor!<\/p>\n
AS<\/strong>: I just had one with her daughter Max. We have sleepovers and family nights. That\u2019s the nice part about having a big family and lots of kids.<\/p>\n
AS<\/strong>: We\u2019re best friends. The key is open communication. And we have our date nights.<\/p>\n
AS<\/strong>: I was never that person who was like, \u201cThis is what I\u2019m going to be.\u201d But I\u2019m very happy.<\/p>\n
