She was revealing the \u201cpromises\u201d the Gossip Girls creators made her to make sure she\u2019d appear in the show as Serena.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<b>She explained that in the books Chuck Bass has a pet monkey, something she wasn\u2019t keen on, <\/b>so admitted she made them promise there would be \u201cno pet monkey.\u201d She continued: \u201cChuck has a pet monkey with coordinating outfits. <b>And I was like, \u2018I would love to be part of the show but I can\u2019t act with a monkey.&#8217;\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<b>She then pointed directly to Leighton and joked: \u201cWell, I got a few of them.<\/b>\u201d Whilst the audience laughed, Leighton looked upset at the comment whilst Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley awkwardly looked at the floor. <b>When none of her co-stars laughed, she exclaimed: \u201cC\u2019mon it was a joke!
