Claim to Fame<\/em> season 3 contestant Danny (whose real name is Nael Zayas<\/strong>) is Marc Anthony<\/strong>\u2019s nephew, but some of his competitors suspected he might be related to Jelly Roll<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s flattering. And it\u2019s funny because Jelly Roll just had a collaboration with WWE, so it made it look even more [fitting],\u201d Danny, who posed as the relative of a celebrity wrestler on the reality series, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> after his Wednesday, August 14, elimination. \u201cI thought it was actually hilarious because that\u2019s exactly what I was trying to go for. I was trying to go for a Dusty Rhodes<\/strong> type with the mullet. I was trying to really throw people off with the attitude I was bringing. I even changed my voice a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Danny stayed calm when asked whether he\u2019s related to a country singer during a July episode
where contestants had to answer questions while a polygraph machine measured their breathing and heart rates.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t pay attention to the heart monitor, I\u2019m just fat,\u201d he quipped. Danny\u2019s fellow contestant Shane<\/strong> explained the reasoning behind the country singer question in a confessional.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy immediate go-to is Jelly Roll,\u201d he said, noting that there was a jar of grape jelly on the clue wall.<\/p>\n

Danny\u2019s competitors never got a chance to test their Jelly Roll theory because he was eliminated after incorrectly guessing that Mackenzie<\/strong> is related to Blake Shelton<\/strong>. He came to the conclusion after seeing a clue that pointed toward a 6\u20196\u201d country star. (Shelton, 48, is 6\u20195\u201d.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI was 100 percent confident,\u201d Danny told Us<\/em>, admitting that he doesn\u2019t know that much about country music. \u201cI felt like Blake was the tallest country musician that I knew. [I was] just an inch off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Danny\u2019s elimination came shortly after several of his competitors \u2014 Mackenzie, Adam<\/strong> and Hud<\/strong> \u2014 deciphered his clue and determined that Anthony, 55, is his celebrity relative. Danny noted that his uncle knew he was going on the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s out of the country right now, but I definitely told him about everything that\u2019s going on and he definitely wanted me to just be my honest self and everybody would be attracted to that,\u201d he said of the Grammy-winning salsa artist. \u201cAnd I think I did that through my gameplay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Danny added that he has a \u201ctight connection\u201d with Anthony\u2019s kids. (Anthony shares daughter Ariana, 30, and son Chase, 28, with ex Debbie Rosado<\/strong>, sons Cristian, 24, and Ryan, 20, with ex-wife Dayanara Torres<\/strong>, twins Max and Emme, 16, with ex-wife Jennifer Lopez<\/strong> and son Marco, 14 months, with wife Nadia Ferreira<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of them are in school, you know, thriving right now. They\u2019re doing their thing, they\u2019re about to graduate and pursue their own careers at this point,\u201d Danny said. \u201cThey\u2019re not kids anymore. It\u2019s crazy seeing them grow up to be the beautiful person that they grew into.\u201d<\/p>\n
