A cause of death was not disclosed, however Wingsong said Salazar suffered from heart issues.<\/p>\n
Salazar, who was born in 1956, scored the role of Chi Chi, the sidekick to Al Pacino<\/strong>\u2019s Tony Montana in 1983\u2019s Scarface<\/em>, early in his career.<\/p>\nThe Cuban-American actor also appeared in several other films including 1980\u2019s Where the Buffalo Roam<\/em>, 1982\u2019s A Stranger is Watching<\/em>, 1984\u2019s The Wild Life<\/em>, 1985\u2019s Sylvester<\/em>, 1988\u2019s Punchline<\/em> and 1993\u2019s Carlito\u2019s Way<\/em>.<\/p>\nSalazar was also a stand-up comedian, best known for penning the catchphrase, \u201cSheck it out!\u201d<\/p>\n
He appeared in a regular capacity on the NBC series Last Comic Standing<\/em> and remained an active comedian up until his death. Salazar\u2019s last known performance was held at Reno\u2019s Silver Legacy resort and casino from August 1 to August 4.<\/p>\nAccording to the actor\u2019s Instagram<\/a>, he had also been following the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics<\/a>, posting a tribute to Simone Biles<\/strong> via the social media platform earlier this month.<\/p>\nIncluding a photo of Biles, 27, Salazar captioned the August 5 Instagram post, \u201cYou Did It Simone, You Come Back BIGGER than Ever\u2026America Is Proud Of You\u2026For You Made America Look Good.\u201d<\/p>\n
