According to Variety, Universal Pictures landed the rights to the pop princess\u2019 best-selling memoir The Woman in Me. Wicked director Jon M. Chu and Marc Platt are reportedly leading the film\u2019s development. Spears also took to X earlier this month to reveal that she\u2019s been working on a \u201csecret project\u201d with Platt. \u201cExcited to share with my fans that I\u2019ve been working on a secret project with Marc Platt. He\u2019s always made my favorite movies \u2026 stay tuned.\u201d<\/p>\n

Besides their obvious physical resemblance, Sweeney knows the struggle of how someone is portrayed to the media can be completely different to who she actually is. She\u2019d be the perfect candidate to portray Britney from the lens of empathy and kindness, which is all the pop star asks for.<\/p>\n

I’m torn. On one hand I’m relieved Britney appears to be attached to the project and that she gets to tell her own story, on another this all feels overdone, ill-advised, and exploitative<\/i> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
