This is something called Soundtrack Dissonance, and it goes beyond end credits, but for the sake of this post, I will focus solely on movies taking a 180 when it comes to the end credits compared to the soundtrack in the rest of the film. In this spoiler-y post (spoilers beware for some tonally strange end-credit music choices), I will discuss a few songs that I have noticed are a jarring addition to the end of the movie and its credits. This one is questionable, but TBH it&#8217;s the least spoilery one I could find before we get into some strange, more recognizable choices moving forward.<\/span><\/span><br \/><a name=\"cutid1\"\/><br \/><b>T\u00c0R: Besomorph and Jurgaz &#8211; Barbarian<\/b><br \/><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/l.lj-toys.com\/?auth_token=sessionless%3A1723204800%3Aembedcontent%3A3616053%262139477%26%26%26youtube%26ERAco7v1Jkw%3Aafdbcafdc143c3576be8057533f3b440dbaa34a1&amp;source=youtube&amp;vid=ERAco7v1Jkw&amp;moduleid=2139477&amp;preview=&amp;journalid=3616053&amp;noads=\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" class=\"lj_embedcontent\" allowfullscreen=\"\" name=\"embed_3616053_2139477\"><\/iframe><br \/>This is a spoiler for T\u00c0R&#8217;s ending, but the song before the end credits also proves that maybe the movie is actually a comedy &#8211; <span class=\"lj-spoiler\"><span class=\"lj-spoiler-head\"><span class=\"lj-spoiler-leftbracket\">[<\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com\/javascript:void(0)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" width=\"18\" height=\"12\" class=\"flaticon flaticon--eye lj-spoiler-icon\" style=\"display: none; fill: currentColor\"><use xlink:href=\"#flaticon--eye\"\/><\/svg>Spoiler (click to open)<\/a><\/b><span class=\"lj-spoiler-rightbracket\">]<\/span><\/span><span class=\"lj-spoiler-body\">we find our titular character&#8217;s career ruined. She is relegated to conducting an orchestra at a Monster Hunter convention in southeast Asia. Then the entire movie about classical music and composing ends with techno music, something Lydia Tar would have loathed.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Event Horizon: The Prodigy &#8211; Funky Shit<\/b><br \/><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/l.lj-toys.com\/?auth_token=sessionless%3A1723204800%3Aembedcontent%3A3616053%262139479%26%26%26youtube%26psCf0oK9dvg%3A55156aaae1c8b6093bf329adc4bfba9e900703c4&amp;source=youtube&amp;vid=psCf0oK9dvg&amp;moduleid=2139479&amp;preview=&amp;journalid=3616053&amp;noads=\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" class=\"lj_embedcontent\" allowfullscreen=\"\" name=\"embed_3616053_2139479\"><\/iframe><br \/>A space horror movie where people die extremely gruesome deaths ends with another techno song. The Prodigy is definitely an interesting choice, especially when it&#8217;s Funky Shit.<\/p>\n<p><b>Uncut Gems: Gigi D&#8217;Agostino &#8211; L&#8217;amour Toujours<\/b><br \/><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/l.lj-toys.com\/?auth_token=sessionless%3A1723204800%3Aembedcontent%3A3616053%262139480%26%26%26youtube%26w15oWDh02K4%3Afa9d9f84dc3141b517d8c0f79f469ce9d8307eb7&amp;source=youtube&amp;vid=w15oWDh02K4&amp;moduleid=2139480&amp;preview=&amp;journalid=3616053&amp;noads=\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" class=\"lj_embedcontent\" allowfullscreen=\"\" name=\"embed_3616053_2139480\"><\/iframe><br \/>This entire post was inspired by last Saturday&#8217;s watch party. When we got to the credits, it was a collective, &#8220;WTF is this song?!&#8221; I mean, it&#8217;s a fun song, but given how the movie ends (<span class=\"lj-spoiler\"><span class=\"lj-spoiler-head\"><span class=\"lj-spoiler-leftbracket\">[<\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com\/javascript:void(0)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" width=\"18\" height=\"12\" class=\"flaticon flaticon--eye lj-spoiler-icon\" style=\"display: none; fill: currentColor\"><use xlink:href=\"#flaticon--eye\"\/><\/svg>Spoiler (click to open)<\/a><\/b><span class=\"lj-spoiler-rightbracket\">]<\/span><\/span><span class=\"lj-spoiler-body\">Adam Sandler&#8217;s Howard Ratner gets murdered by his brother-in-law\/loan shark&#8217;s goons after his final bet hits big before his brother-in-law\/loan shark Arno is also murdered in Howard&#8217;s jewelry shop<\/span><\/span>, it&#8217;s def an interesting choice. Didn&#8217;t expect I would end the movie wanting to dance.<\/p>\n<p><b>Edge of Tomorrow: John Newman &#8211; Love Me Again<\/b><br \/><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/l.lj-toys.com\/?auth_token=sessionless%3A1723204800%3Aembedcontent%3A3616053%262139481%26%26%26youtube%26sZLTMC-BMCI%3A9d214366ed224264feab139aa844c63b03dac175&amp;source=youtube&amp;vid=sZLTMC-BMCI&amp;moduleid=2139481&amp;preview=&amp;journalid=3616053&amp;noads=\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" class=\"lj_embedcontent\" allowfullscreen=\"\" name=\"embed_3616053_2139481\"><\/iframe><br \/>I get what they were going for with this, I really do, but given the rest of the movie, this pop song just feels out of nowhere given the rest of the soundtrack. I like the song, though! It&#8217;s definitely an End Credits Song.<\/p>\n<p><b>Eragon: Avril Lavigne &#8211; Keep Holding On<\/b><br \/><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/l.lj-toys.com\/?auth_token=sessionless%3A1723204800%3Aembedcontent%3A3616053%262139482%26%26%26youtube%26trp6FZs2zlM%3A4514e0f30bc08dce6163784ba9660847ca02212f&amp;source=youtube&amp;vid=trp6FZs2zlM&amp;moduleid=2139482&amp;preview=&amp;journalid=3616053&amp;noads=\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" class=\"lj_embedcontent\" allowfullscreen=\"\" name=\"embed_3616053_2139482\"><\/iframe><br \/>A high fantasy movie ending with Avril Lavigne is definitely a choice.
