The re-release, which combines both games into one package called <em>Doom + Doom II<\/em> and is a free update for anyone who already owns <em>Doom (1993)<\/em> or <em>Doom II<\/em>, offers a long list of great new features \u2014 including a brand new single-player episode and online, cross-platform deathmatch multiplayer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">With <em>Doom + Doom II, <\/em>you\u2019ll have access to both of those two games as well as extra single-player content like John Romero\u2019s <em>Sigil<\/em> episode <a href=\"https:\/\/romero.com\/sigil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released in 2019<\/a> and <em>Legacy of Rust<\/em>, which is a new <em>Doom<\/em> episode created by \u201cindividuals from id Software, Nightdive Studios and MachineGames,\u201d according to Bethesda. You\u2019ll also be able to download single-player mods through a new in-game mod browser.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">On the multiplayer front, Bethesda has added 25 new maps for deathmatch, meaning you\u2019ll have up to 43 to pick from. The cross-platform deathmatch and co-op also support up to 16 players.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">The combined package will support up to 4K resolution and 120fps if you\u2019re playing on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox Series X \/ S. There\u2019s also updated music for the games by Andrew Hulshult (who worked on the music for <em>Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods DLC<\/em>), and you can switch back and forth between the newer tracks and older tracks whenever you like.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">There\u2019s a lot more I didn\u2019t touch on, and if you\u2019re at all interested in this package, I recommend scrolling through <a href=\"https:\/\/slayersclub.bethesda.net\/en-US\/article\/doom-doomii-release-notes?linkId=100000279162898\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the extensive patch notes<\/a>.
