After starring and directing It Ends With Us<\/i>, Justin Baldoni<\/strong> <\/a>is not looking to repeat double duty in a potential film sequel.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re gonna have to ask me in a little while. We\u2019re gonna take a vacation after this,\u201d Baldoni, 40, quipped to Entertainment Tonight<\/a> <\/i>at the Tuesday, August 6, red carpet premiere in New York City.<\/p>\n

It Ends With Us,<\/i> adapted from Colleen Hoover<\/strong>\u2019s bestselling novel of the same name, follows florist Lily Bloom (Blake Lively<\/strong><\/a>) as she enters into an abusive relationship<\/a> with neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (Baldoni). Amid their tumultuous relationship, Lily\u2019s first love, Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar<\/strong>), reappears in her life. It Ends With Us <\/i>spawned an It Starts With Us <\/i>sequel in 2022 that takes place years after the OG book.<\/p>\n

Should It Starts With Us <\/i>be adapted for the screen, Baldoni knows who should direct it.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tColleen Hoover\u2019s 2016 bestselling novel It Ends With Us is officially being adapted for the big screen \u2013 with Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni taking center stage. Released in 2016, It Ends With Us became a social media cultural phenomenon and was the top-selling print book of 2022. The novel remained on The New York [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI think there are better people for that one,\u201d he quipped on Tuesday. \u201cI think Blake Lively is ready to direct. That\u2019s what I think.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Gossip Girl <\/i>alum made her directorial debut<\/a> with her best friend Taylor Swift<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cI Bet You Think About Me\u201d music video in 2021, which earned Lively an ACM nomination.<\/p>\n

Back in front of the cameras, Hoover, 44, thought Baldoni and Lively, 36, were the \u201cdream\u201d versions<\/a> of the It Ends With Us <\/i>characters.<\/p>\n

\u201cBlake Lively, y\u2019all. She\u2019s my dream Lily,\u201d Hoover gushed via Instagram in January 2023. \u201cAnd then when I first met Justin Baldoni, who is directing the film for It Ends With Us<\/i>, I immediately wanted him to be Ryle. I just thought that he had what it takes to play that character, and the good news is he\u2019s gonna be Ryle.\u201d<\/p>\n

It Ends With Us <\/i>was inspired by Hoover\u2019s family history of domestic abuse, which weighed on Baldoni during the entire shoot.<\/p>\n
