Not by a long shot! She has the primary custody of the kids and is a great mom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yes, having her children by her side has indeed been a comfort, but Kelly also acknowledges that the road for everyone hasn\u2019t been easy. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe divorce was difficult,\u201d the source explained, but adding, \u201cbut she recovered quickly and has no regrets.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>With that mindset and her little ones well adjusted to their new life, Kelly is prioritizing her family\u2019s happiness over the <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/kelly-clarkson-has-no-regrets-about-difficult-divorce-from-brandon-blackstock-source-exclusive-8619995\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">divorce war<\/a>.  \u201cShe is very hands-on and fun,\u201d the source added. <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-kelly-clarkson-s-divorce-what-happened\">Kelly Clarkson\u2019s Divorce: What Happened<\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019s sad to think that less than a decade ago, Kelly was a happily married woman. <\/p>\n<p>Kelly and Brandon tied the knot in 2013, ushering in a new era fro the <em>American Idol <\/em>singer.<\/p>\n<p>While they were married, the couple\u00a0welcomed two children: daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander. <\/p>\n<p>But the romance wasn\u2019t meant to last. Kelly filed for a divorce in 2020 \u2013 and that\u2019s where all the trouble started. <\/p>\n<p>Almost immediately, Brandon and the Starstruck company sued Kelly for unpaid commissions. Then, as the divorce stretched on, Brandon made demands for everything from property to millions of dollars. <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-the-divorce-settlement\">The Divorce Settlement<\/h2>\n<p>In 2022, after two years of contentious legal battle, Kelly and Brandon\u00a0agreed to a divorce settlement.<\/p>\n<p>On the family side of things, they agreed to joint legal custody of their children, with Kelly obtaining primary custody.<\/p>\n<p>Court documents revealed that Kelly was on the hook to pay monthly spousal support payments of $115,000 through Jan. 31, 2024, as well as $45,601 in child support monthly until the children reach 18.<\/p>\n<p>On top of all that, she was required to pay her ex-husband a one-time payment of $1,326,161.<\/p>\n<p>But the divorce settlement only settled that \u2013 their divorce. <\/p>\n<p>Their lives were so intertwined, as he acted as her manager, that the legal waring continues, as mentioned above. <\/p>\n<p>And honestly, we don\u2019t see it ending ANY time soon. But I\u2019ve never been that person. Because I\u2019ve been through a couple divorces in my family, I just don\u2019t like to put any weight on it. It can happen; it doesn\u2019t have to happen. So we were both in Montana.
