Jinger Duggar<\/strong><\/a> faced unexpected highs and lows of growing up on television, including a particularly traumatizing encounter at a dude ranch.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. This dude ranch was basically two and half hours away from any time and even the closest town had, like, nothing,\u201d Duggar, 30, told husband Jeremy Vuolo<\/strong> in a Wednesday, August 7, YouTube<\/a> video. \u201cWe drove and drove and drove and it felt like we were never going to get there. \u2026 It\u2019s an out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere dude ranch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jinger and many of her siblings<\/a> \u2014 she is one of Jim Bob Duggar<\/strong> and Michelle Duggar<\/strong>\u2019s 19 kids \u2014 were enthralled by the prospect of riding horses.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe show up at this dude ranch and we\u2019re like, \u2018This is the best! We get to ride horses for however many days we were there,\u2019\u201d Jinger said. \u201cOn one of the days they were taking us out on a trail ride and I got on a horse and they were like, \u2018This horse is super chill, it\u2019s kind of slow.\u2019 But, they failed to tell me one thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhen it comes to the Duggars, the more members, the merrier \u2014 which is why some fans have a hard time keeping track of the famous family. After tying the knot in July 1984, Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar (n\u00e9e Ruark) welcomed a total of 19 children, including two sets of twins, and the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to Jinger, the ranchers neglected to mention that the horse hated water.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe came up to this body of water [that] was like a wide creek, but the horse stood there for a second and then it jumped over the creek with me on its back and then it started bucking,\u201d she said. \u201cI was holding onto the horn and it shook me up quite a bit, so they took me off.\u201d<\/p>\n

The trail ride was part of the footage for the 19 Kids and Counting <\/i>pilot, which was initially called 16 Kids and Counting <\/i>based on the number of Jim Bob and Michelle\u2019s kids at the time. According to Jinger, the scary equine encounter did not make it into the episode but did jumpstart a greater fear in her.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe [they didn\u2019t use the footage] because I was, like, traumatized [and] they were trying to be nice,\u201d she speculated. \u201cUsually, that\u2019s good TV.\u201d<\/p>\n
