A new film about Hulk Hogan<\/a><\/strong> called Killing Gawker<\/strong><\/em>, is now under development. Hogan, renowned for his wrestling prowess, has also become a pop culture icon. In 2013, Hogan filed a lawsuit against Gawker Media after the company’s staff shared segments of an intimate video featuring him and Heather Clem.<\/p>\n The case concluded in 2016 with Hogan securing a $140 million verdict against the media group. According to Variety<\/a>, Killing Gawker<\/em> is now in development based on these events. Artists Equity, the production company founded by Matt Damon<\/a> and Ben Affleck<\/a>, will produce the film.<\/p>\n The wildest rumor surrounding the movie is that Affleck would be playing Hogan.<\/p>\n Charles Randolph<\/strong> penned the screenplay, which draws inspiration from Ryan Holiday<\/strong>\u2018s book Conspiracy: Peter Thiel, Hulk Hogan, Gawker and the Anatomy of Intrigue<\/em><\/a>. Gus Van Sant<\/strong> will direct the project.<\/p>\n Affleck, Damon, and Van Sant share a history of collaboration. The trio previously joined forces on Good Will Hunting<\/strong><\/em>, which Van Sant directed in 1997. Since then, he hasn’t worked with Damon and Affleck as a pair, his more recent titles including Feud<\/strong><\/em>, When We Rise<\/strong><\/em>, and The Sea of Trees<\/strong><\/em>. However, Van Sant did team up with Damon again for Promised Land<\/strong><\/em> in 2012.
