Jennifer Garner<\/strong><\/a> is detailing the grueling workout routine she followed to get \u201cMarvel fit\u201d for her cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a video posted via Instagram<\/a> on Monday, August 5, Garner, 52, showed followers just how much training went into preparing for her fight scene in the Ryan Reynolds<\/strong> and Hugh Jackman<\/strong>-led film. The Alias<\/em> alum reprised her role as Elektra from 2003\u2019s Daredevil<\/em> in the newest installment of the Deadpool<\/em> franchise. (Garner\u2019s ex-husband Ben Affleck<\/strong> also starred as the titular character in the 2003 production.)<\/p>\n

\u201cOther than trying to convince my kids\u2019 preschool buddies that I was secretly a ninja, I hadn\u2019t picked up Elektra\u2019s sais since 2004; I was fit, but not @marvel fit,\u201d Garner began in a lengthy caption. \u201cAs this impossible dream became reality, my bestie and OG stunt double @shaunaduggins and I amped up our training, led by @bethjnicely at @thelimitfit 1x\/day, plus whatever homework she assigned for a second workout.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tA decade that\u2019s churned out 21 superhero flicks has given fans plenty of opinions about where each character ranks in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From Iron Man to Captain America, the blockbuster-filled franchise knows how to generate fierce heroes that leave their marks on movie audiences. Iron Man The OG MCU hero! Noting that she boxed three times a week and did \u201clots and lots\u201d of Peloton workouts, Garner continued, \u201cWe had #SuperHeroSummer over here, twirling sais in the backyard and laughing at our sore old bodies.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the compilation clip, Garner could also be seen swimming laps and doing water workouts, trampoline workouts, box-jumping and more.<\/p>\n

The 13 Going on 30<\/em> star went on to thank Reynolds, 47, and director Shawn Levy<\/strong> for giving her and her character Elektra an ending, and couldn\u2019t help but gush about sharing the screen with her \u201cold pal\u201d Jackman, 55, as well as Dafne Keen<\/strong>, Channing Tatum<\/strong> and Wesley Snipes<\/strong>, all of whom also reprised their Marvel roles for cameos in the movie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Friends and followers were quick to express how awe-struck they were with Garner\u2019s training and athleticism in the comments section of the post.<\/p>\n

Thor star Chris Hemsworth recently called out fellow MCU actors who have appeared in the franchise but have subsequently criticized their involvement. \u201cIt\u2019s, like, \u2018They\u2019re films that are successful \u2014 [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In one scene, Deadpool \u2013 played by Reynolds \u2013 offers his condolences to former Marvel movie characters who hadn\u2019t survived the wasteland world. When Daredevil is mentioned, Garner\u2019s Elektra quickly responds, \u201cIt\u2019s fine,\u201d to him being gone.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Ben] was never on set and yet he gave us the character, and the real-life backstory certainly gave us one of the biggest laughs that we could ever get as far as the writing and mention of Daredevil, given that it\u2019s Jen Garner playing Elektra,\u201d Levy, 56, told host Josh Horowitz<\/strong> on Monday\u2019s episode of the \u201cHappy Sad Confused\u201d podcast, noting that Garner approved<\/a> the cheeky one-liner.<\/p>\n
