Akili McDowell has been arrested. On Aug. 3, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office\u00a0announced on <\/span>Facebook<\/a> that the\u00a021-year-old\u00a0<\/span>Billions<\/em><\/a>\u00a0actor had been arrested\u00a0on a murder charge in the shooting death of Cesar Peralta, 20.<\/span><\/p>\n On July 20,\u00a0deputies responded to an incident that occurred in the parking lot of a Houston, Texas, apartment complex. Peralta\u00a0sustained gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.\u00a0At the time, the sheriff’s office said that the suspect(s) fled the scene.<\/span><\/p>\n McDowell was arrested on Aug. 1 and\u00a0booked into the Harris County Jail, ET confirms.<\/span><\/p>\n He is facing both theft and murder charges. McDowell is due in court Aug. 6 on the former charge and Oct. 9 on the latter one. McDowell is being held on more than $400,000 bond. The actor has yet to speak out about his arrest or the charges he’s facing.<\/span><\/p>\n The investigation is ongoing. Throughout his career, McDowell appeared on\u00a0<\/span>The Astronaut Wives Club\u00a0<\/span><\/em>as Zavier Gibbs and\u00a0<\/span>Billions\u00a0<\/span><\/em>as Savion Williams.<\/span><\/p>\n His most recent role was in the film\u00a0<\/span>The Waterboyz<\/span><\/em>. Starring La La Anthony and Rockmond Dunbar, the movie\u00a0was released earlier this year.<\/span><\/p>\n
