Olympic<\/a> athlete Husein Alireza<\/strong>, who captured Italian swimmer Thomas Ceccon<\/strong> napping<\/a> outside his designated room, is sharing new details about the viral photo.<\/p>\n

\u201cLots of fake news coming out of my story yesterday,\u201d the Saudi Arabia rower wrote via his Instagram Story on Monday, August 5. \u201cTo clarify, the location was not a \u2018park,\u2019 but the Olympic Village. It\u2019s also very common for athletes to take naps on the grass by the river.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just one day earlier, Alireza, 30, went on social media after photographing Ceccon, 23, seemingly napping next to a bench. \u201cRest today, conquer tomorrow,\u201d he wrote via his Instagram Story on Sunday, August 5.<\/p>\n

Publications from around the world discovered the photo and began writing articles claiming Ceccon was sleeping at a \u201cpark.\u201d Alireza, however, later shared an assortment of headlines via his Instagram Story and wrote, \u201cFake news.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSeveral stars have chosen to come out to support the stellar athletes competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Kelly Clarkson covered the opening ceremony for NBC along with Mike Tirico and Peyton Manning on July 26, which included performances from stars such as Lady Gaga and C\u00e9line Dion. During Dion\u2019s powerful performance, which marked her [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The viral photo comes after Ceccon expressed discomfort at the Olympic Village, which is where thousands of athletes live during the Games.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no air conditioning in the village. It\u2019s hot. The food is bad,\u201d he said<\/a>. \u201cMany athletes move for this reason: it\u2019s not an alibi or excuse, it\u2019s the reality of what perhaps not everyone knows.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ceccon added that he had been \u201ctoo tired\u201d because \u201cit\u2019s hard to sleep both at night and in the afternoon.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cUsually, when I\u2019m at home, I always sleep in the afternoon,\u201d he explained. \u201cHere, I really struggle between the heat and the noise.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ceccon has still found success during the Paris Olympics. The swimmer won gold in the men\u2019s 100-meter backstroke. He also earned a bronze medal after competing in the men\u2019s 4\u00d7100-meter freestyle race.<\/p>\n
