Maas<\/strong>\u2019 steamy romantasy series, <em>A Court of Thorns and Roses<\/em>, which has taken the internet (specifically <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/2023-booktok-recommendations-biggest-books-on-the-app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BookTok<\/a>) and the fantasy genre by storm.<\/p>\n<p>First published in 2015, the first book in Maas\u2019s sweeping epic romance follows Feyre Archeron, who for years has struggled to keep her family alive in the magicless human realms of Prythian. However, when Feyre unknowingly kills the sentry of a powerful High Fae named Tamlin, she is transported to a world of magic, faeries and violence where she must fight not only to save her family but her entire realm.<\/p>\n<p>Watt isn\u2019t the only celebrity who has been drawn in by the magic of Prythian and its High Lords: singer-songwriter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/maren-morris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Maren Morris<\/strong><\/a>, actress <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/megan-fox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Megan Fox<\/strong><\/a> and playwright <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/lin-manuel-miranda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Lin-Manuel Miranda<\/strong><\/a>, among others, have all checked the first book (at least) off of their TBR list.<\/p>\n<p>Maas has so far published five novels in the series, with the fifth book, 2021\u2019s <em>A Court of Silver Flames<\/em>, serving as the first installment not told from Feyre\u2019s perspective but instead from the POV of her ruthless older sister, Nesta. Maas confirmed in 2023 that a sixth <em>ACOTAR<\/em> book was in the works, though she revealed no further information about the plot. (She is also the author of the best-selling <em>Throne of Glass<\/em> and <em>Crescent City<\/em> series.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am working on the next <em>ACOTAR<\/em> novel,\u201d Maas shared during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellartickets.com\/o\/live-talks-los-angeles\/events\/sarah-j-maas-in-conversation-with-christina-lauren\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cLive Talks Los Angeles\u201d<\/a> in September last year. \u201cI\u2019m drafting it, and that is all I will say.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>A Court of Thorns and Roses<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/sarah-j-maas-acotar-tv-show-is-still-in-the-works-at-hulu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">television series<\/a> is in the works at Hulu as well, <em>Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed in February, though casting choices and a potential release date have not been revealed. <strong>Ronald D. Moore<\/strong> revealed in July 2024 that he is no longer the showrunner after moving to Sony. Watt<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Watt shared that he had picked up the first book in the ongoing <em>ACOTAR<\/em> series in April on his wife <strong>Kealia Ohai Watt<\/strong>\u2019s recommendation. \u201cKealia swears by it,\u201d he wrote via <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JJWatt\/status\/1775170440048120088\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">X<\/a> at the time. \u201cI have no idea what I\u2019m getting myself into.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/j-j-watt-is-reading-acotar-books-and-the-internet-is-obsessed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a first-time ACOTAR reader<\/a>, Watt was initially rooting for love interest Tamlin when he started the series, even expressing his desire to play the High Lord of the Spring Court in a live-action adaptation. However, he was encouraged by fans to keep reading before he decided on any favorite characters, as the book series is full of twists, turns and betrayals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFinished the first book, started the second. In a video shared via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@jordan_fisher\/video\/7362722764450483488\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TikTok<\/a> in April, Fisher shared that he was in the last \u201chundred pages\u201d of <em>Queen of Shadows<\/em>, the fourth book in the <em>Throne of Glass<\/em> series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s at this point in every Sarah J. Maas book, the last hundred pages, every single Sarah J. Maas book,\u201d the former Disney Channel star said, exasperated. \u201cShe don\u2019t give a s\u2014t about you or your family or your feelings, how it affects you at work. She don\u2019t give a s\u2014t.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C87ln7WuvoL\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Claire Holt<\/h3>\n<p>The <em>Vampire Diaries<\/em> alum took to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@claireholt\/video\/7347766542404177195?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TikTok<\/a> in March 2024 to post about her experience with the series, sharing a video with the overlaid text, \u201cMe to the fictional book character who didn\u2019t return by feelings,\u201d set to the trending sound from <em>Love Is Blind<\/em>: \u201cWhen you see and realize what you missed out on, you are going to choke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Holt didn\u2019t say how far into the series she was, she did ask in her caption, \u201cWhat does Feyre have that I don\u2019t?\u201d She\u2019ll have to ask Rhys, the High Lord of the Night Court, about that one.<\/p>\n<p>In the comment section of an August 2024 TikTok, Holt shared that her fancast for \u201cthe perfect\u201d Rhysand would be Olympic swimmer <strong>Thomas Ceccon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Megan Fox<\/h3>\n<p>Fox talked fantasy during her March 2024 episode on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/spotify\/reel\/C43DCf9Mkfz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d<\/a> podcast when asked by host <strong>Alex Cooper<\/strong> how she likes to unwind at the end of the day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI usually stay by the fire and I like to read,\u201d Fox shared. \u201cI read a lot of metaphysical books, but right now I\u2019m reading whatever that new, like, adult version of <em>Twilight<\/em> book that\u2019s out.
