Charlie Jeer<\/strong> and Katherine LaPrell<\/strong> left the Too Hot to Handle <\/i><\/a>retreat optimistic about their future as a couple, but where do they stand now?<\/p>\n

This post contains spoilers for Too Hot to Handle<\/i> season 6.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cLife\u2019s been great. I\u2019ve been out to L.A. twice to go and see her [and] she\u2019s been over to Kent to see me [and] all my family,\u201d Charlie, 21, exclusively told Us Weekly <\/i>ahead of the Friday, August 2, finale. \u201cWe went on holiday to Amsterdam while she was over here as well and \u2026 we spent loads of quality time together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie has even officially asked Katherine, 27, to be his girlfriend.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFor love and money! Too Hot to Handle has generated several successful couples, despite its forbidden-romance premise. The Netflix reality show debuted in April 2020. The series centers around people who are typically involved in meaningless flings and struggle to form long-term relationships. In an effort to win $100,000, contestants living in a house together [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cTo be honest, I really wanted to just spend the time after recording the show and before the show went out to get to know each other again,\u201d he said. \u201cI think that, in the show, I was very mindful not to take things too far because I did know I liked her and I wanted to actually get to know her properly<\/a> on the outside before I committed to being in a relationship or anything like that. I\u2019m glad that I did.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie\u2019s decision to take things slowly came from Brendan<\/strong>, one of the Too Hot to Handle <\/i>workshop leaders.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Brendan] said to me, \u2018Charlie, one of the best pieces of advice I can give you in relationships is to slow down,\u2019\u201d the British Netflix star said. \u201cWhen he said that to me, I was like, \u2018You know what? That\u2019s really good advice.\u2019 That\u2019s just what I\u2019ve taken on board.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now that Charlie and Katherine are official, their bond has grown even more.<\/p>\n

\u201cI tell Kat I love her every day [and] she\u2019ll tell me she loves me every day,\u201d Charlie gushed. \u201cGenuinely, I\u2019m really happy with Kat. I needed someone who was maybe a bit older than me [who had] a bit more life experience than me in certain areas and someone who actually pushes me.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cWhen I dated girls in the past, I hadn\u2019t bothered committing myself to them because I genuinely didn\u2019t feel like I was growing with them. I didn\u2019t feel like I was learning anything with them. Everything [from the show] has caused me to grow in this relationship and that\u2019s what I wanted \u2026 and what I feel I\u2019m getting out of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie and Katherine currently are in a long-distance relationship<\/a> between London and Los Angeles but aren\u2019t rushing their next steps.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re taking it as it comes. Kat could definitely come over here for a bit [and] I could definitely go over there for a bit, but I\u2019m slowing down [and] taking my time,\u201d Charlie said. \u201cWe don\u2019t need to rush anything. There is no rush and there\u2019s no pressure to make any decision or jumping to, \u2018Oh, I\u2019m going to drop my entire life and move out to L.A.\u2019 or she\u2019s going to drop her whole life and move to London.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Charlie, living apart allows both him and \u201cconfident\u201d Katherine to have \u201cfreedom to be individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually think long distance kind of \u2026 enables us to be our own people,\u201d he said. \u201cThen when we come together, it\u2019s just amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tLana is reporting for duty! When Too Hot to Handle premiered on Netflix in April 2020, viewers were introduced to the show\u2019s strict set of rules for its contestants. Each season, the participants live together in a house in a tropical location and are tasked with building a connection with one of their fellow competitors [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Charlie and Katherine got together in the middle of the Too Hot to Handle <\/i>retreat, abruptly breaking off their respective connections<\/a> with Lucy Syed<\/strong> and Louis Russell<\/strong>. Charlie told Us<\/i> he has \u201c100 percent\u201d remained on amicable terms with Lucy, 27.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Lucy is a very mature woman and she knows in herself [and] she understands what happened. I think as well for her seeing that me and Kat have gone on to do things together, you can\u2019t hold resentment for that,\u201d Charlie said. \u201cI wanted to give [her] time after the show. I didn\u2019t really want to reach out too much. I thought there\u2019s no need for me to do that. But a little bit before \u2026 the show aired, I did drop her a message just to say, \u2018I hope there\u2019s no hard feelings. I hope you\u2019re all good. If there\u2019s literally anything that you want to talk to me about, you just let me know because I don\u2019t want to do anything to make you look bad.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie did not win Too Hot to Handle<\/i> \u2014 the top prize went to Bri Balsam<\/strong> and Demari Davis<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 but he\u2019s \u201creally happy\u201d with his placement.<\/p>\n
