Sam Asghari<\/strong><\/a> does not have dating on the brain, in the traditional sense, following his divorce from Britney Spears<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, I\u2019m dating a very high-maintenance girl and, you know, I have to get her nails done and take her to the dog park and feed her good food and get her really nice treats. That is what I\u2019m focused on at the moment,\u201d the Jackpot <\/i>star, 30, exclusively told Us Weekly <\/i>on Wednesday, July 31, joking about his pet dog<\/a>.<\/i> \u201cAnd [a] career is something that\u2019s going to require 100 percent of your time, and I\u2019m really putting all that effort and putting all of my mindset towards acting \u2026 [and] producing career.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cIt deserves that type of work ethic, and watching my sisters do such an amazing thing at pursuing their dreams makes me inspired. Watching them work 100 percent makes me realize it\u2019s going to take 100-and-something percent to reach my goals.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Asghari\u2019s career goals \u201caren\u2019t humble,\u201d he tries to stay grounded.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tIt was love at first sight when Britney Spears and Sam Asghari met in October 2016 on the set of her \u201cSlumber Party\u201d music video, but the fairy-tale does not have a happy ending. Spears was charmed when chatting with Asghari and the pair exchanged phone numbers and continued to get to know each other. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cMy goals are always the opposite of my personality,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s gonna require a lot of time, so I\u2019m not really focusing on [dating] at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asghari has been single since August 2023 when he filed for divorce<\/a> from Spears, 42, after 14 months of marriage. The petition was finalized in May 2024<\/a>, teaching Asghari all sorts of new life lessons.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you\u2019re in a relationship or any experiences that are major in your life, you learn so much,\u201d he said on Wednesday. \u201cIt\u2019s definitely something that I learned so much from the past, and that\u2019s something that was a college crash course on how cruel some people in Hollywood could be.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Asghari, he\u2019s not harping on the exes\u2019 history.<\/p>\n

\u201cI only celebrate the past,\u201d he explained. \u201cI always like to appreciate the past, celebrate the past and that\u2019s just a big part of me. I\u2019m always going to be that type of person.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBritney Spears\u00a0has been able to count on ex\u00a0Sam Asghari\u00a0when the going gets tough. Spears and Asghari\u00a0began dating in 2016\u00a0after meeting on the set of her \u201cSlumber Party\u201d music video. After going public with their relationship the following year, Asghari has shown his support for Spears time and time again. \u201cSeveral people in Britney\u2019s life were [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Asghari, who hails from Iran, continued: \u201cI\u2019m here and came from a different country, and I\u2019m living an American dream, and I\u2019m always going to appreciate that. In that time, Asghari is focused on his acting career. After a small gig on Max\u2019s Hacks<\/i>, he landed the role<\/a> of Senior Agent Ash in Jackpot<\/i>.<\/p>\n

\u201cComing from a different country, not speaking the language, I always watched action films because that\u2019s what [is translated into] international languages. That\u2019s what resonated to me from childhood,\u201d he said. \u201cTo be part of a movie that\u2019s full of action requires a lot of wrestling and a lot of rehearsing \u2026 it\u2019s just exciting to be a part of [the project].\u201d<\/p>\n

Asghari loved that the Paul Feig<\/strong>-directed project was \u201cfull of action and comedy\u201d and called it a \u201cblessing\u201d to be cast. He costars with John Cena, Awkwafina<\/strong> and Simu Liu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
