Wardrobe malfunction<\/a> or part of the act? Fans of Chappell Roan<\/strong> are questioning what they saw after the \u201cHOT TO GO\u201d hitmaker\u2019s wig slid off seconds into her recent performance, and she played it off perfectly.<\/p>\n Chappell, 26, stepped onto the stage at The Vic Theatre in Chicago on Wednesday, July 31, to perform a set as part of the Lollapalooza Aftershows series. She donned a head-to-toe Marie Antoinette-inspired costume, complete with a corset ball gown, Victorian makeup and a white hairpiece that was pinned into a high updo.<\/p>\n However, seconds into singing her hit \u201cFemininomenon,\u201d the wig slid off Chappell\u2019s head, as seen in a video shared by a fan on TikTok<\/a>. Her curly brown locks, which had been pulled into a low bun beneath the hairpiece, were exposed as the wig fell to the floor behind her. Chappell briefly looked shocked, but she continued singing and pulled her hair out of the bun to let it flow around her shoulders as she danced around.<\/p>\n \u201cOop was down within the first 20 seconds,\u201d the fan captioned the post.<\/p>\n Chappell\u2019s response to the wardrobe malfunction was so swift that fans in the comments couldn\u2019t agree on whether it was truly an accident or part of the show. After all, the timing was perfect.<\/p>\n \u201cOh she was QUICK with it,\u201d one commenter wrote, while another added, \u201cI can\u2019t tell if this was part of the act or improv.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWow if it wasn\u2019t planned she handled that so gracefully,\u201d another fan wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cBetter than anything she could have planned.
