Christina Applegate<\/b><\/a> revealed that she has only had one <\/span>plastic surgery<\/span><\/a> procedure done while opening up about the reason she went under the knife.<\/p>\n \u201cAt 27 years old, I was on a show and one of the producers, very famous people who did a very famous show as well, said, \u2018Hey, we\u2019re having trouble lighting under your eyes. Your bags under your eyes are so big,’\u201d Christina, 52, said during the Wednesday, July 30, episode of her \u201cMeSsy<\/a>\u201d podcast, noting that her under eyes are a hereditary trait. \u201cAnd he goes, \u2018I suggest you get them removed.\u2019 And you know what? I did.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on to recall a more recent experience that took place before she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021. Christina explained that a director told her a studio paid $100,000 to edit her face in an unnamed movie.<\/p>\n \u201cHe goes, \u2018Yeah, the studio was really upset,’\u201d she recalled of her conversation with the director. \u201cHe goes, \u2018Yeah, I mean I told them it\u2019s like she\u2019s not Kelly Bundy anymore and, you know, so she looks older\u2019 and they literally erased my face.\u201d<\/p>\n Christina\u2019s cohost, Jamie-Lynn Sigler<\/strong>, then chimed in to share than an editor previously told her the way she walked did not \u201clook right\u201d amid her own battle with MS.<\/p>\n \u201cThen they need to f\u2013king film us differently,\u201d Christina replied. \u201cThat\u2019s the thing.\u201d<\/p>\n The Dead to Me<\/em> actress continued the vulnerable conversation<\/a> by admitting she\u2019s scared to return to acting amid her chronic illness. \u201cWe talk a lot about fear of going back to work and, you know, and I\u2019m having, like, this idea of, like, I might want to,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd now I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh, s\u2013t, we\u2019re being so honest about this. Are they gonna think that I\u2019m not gonna be able to do it?\u2019 Well, I filmed an entire season of television with this disease and, you know, was very successful with it.\u201d<\/p>\n Christina has been open about the impacts her career has had on her body image, while she previously discussed struggles with anorexia<\/span><\/a> during a May episode of her podcast. The California native explained that she first started dealing with her <\/span>eating disorder<\/span><\/a> as a teenager when she starred on <\/span>Married \u2026 With Children<\/span><\/i>.<\/p>\n \u201cI just deprived myself of food for years and years and years,\u201d she revealed, adding that her mother enrolled her in the Weight Watchers program when she was 15. However, Christina shared that she first started struggling with her body image years earlier after a boy in her neighborhood called her \u201cfat.\u201d<\/p>\n Christina said that her mom was \u201calways competitive,\u201d recalling, \u201cIf I got down to 110 [pounds], she\u2019d be like\u2026 \u2018How\u2019d you do it?\u2019 And the reason was, I had an eating disorder.\u201d<\/p>\n She then revealed that her anorexia became so bad that she \u201cwould eat five almonds in a day.\u201d Christina continued, \u201cAnd if I had six, I would cry, and I wouldn\u2019t want to leave the house. And that stuck with me for years and years and years.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
