Jonathan Majors<\/strong><\/a> was fired from Marvel Studios in light of his assault trial, meaning that he would no longer play Kang the Conquerer in the franchise.<\/p>\n

Majors\u2019 Kang was originally set to be the next big-bad in the MCU. The mantle has now been bestowed on Robert Downey Jr.<\/strong><\/a> in the role of Doctor Doom.<\/p>\n

\u201c[I\u2019m] heartbroken, of course,\u201d Majors, 34, told TMZ<\/a> on Wednesday, July 31. \u201cI love Kang. Doctor Doom is wicked, though.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI think it\u2019s fair that Mr. Downey is being and has been greeted with patience and curiosity and love \u2026 and [he\u2019s] being allowed to work [his] art and be creative at that level. I didn\u2019t really get that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJonathan Majors made headlines on March 25 when he was arrested following an alleged domestic violence dispute. The New York Police Department named Majors as the aggressor in an assault involving a 30-year-old woman in a statement to Variety. \u201cThe victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident,\u201d [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Downey, 59, was previously arrested in 1996 for drug charges and sentenced to three years of probation. After getting sober, Downey was eventually cast by Marvel as Tony Stark\/Iron Man in 2008.<\/p>\n

Majors, meanwhile, made his Marvel debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantamania <\/i>and Disney+\u2019s first season of Loki. <\/i>He was dropped by the film studio<\/a> in 2023 following his arrest for assault. Majors\u2019 ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari<\/strong> accused the actor of physical abuse in March 2023, claims he vehemently denied at the time.<\/p>\n

In a December 2023 trial, a jury found Majors guilty of assault in the third degree and harassment. He was sentenced<\/a> to a 52-week, in-person domestic violence program.<\/p>\n
