Stop!\u201d Whoopi Goldberg\u00a0 said. \u201cThey\u2019re not trying to do anything except talk about the history. They\u2019re showing you the history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In case you haven\u2019t been following: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/07\/candace-cameron-bure-olympics-opening-ceremony\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Candace Cameron Bure<\/a> felt the drag performance during the opening ceremony alluded to Leonardo da Vinci\u2019s iconic late 15th century painting depicting his interpretation of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ. She called the performance \u201cdisgusting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, it has since been confirmed by organizers that the performance as in reference to a 17th century painting titled \u201cThe Feast of the Gods\u201d by Dutch artist Jan van Bijlert, which depicts the Greek gods of Olympus crowded around a long table.<\/p>\n<p>Still, the damage had been done and people\u2019s minds \u2013 including Candace\u2019s \u2013 could not be swayed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Which made Whoopi and co. that much angrier.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rather than taking \u201c20 hours to write an email,\u201d the Oscar-winner suggested that individuals who were \u201cnot happy\u201d with the vignette simply \u201cwatch something else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust turn the TV off!\u201d Whoopi exclaimed. \u201cWatch something else! Put the newspaper down, don\u2019t look at the pictures, these are choices. These are our choices. You have the ability.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cForget what Instagram is telling you,\u201d she went on. \u201cIf you don\u2019t like it, go to something else! You don\u2019t have to stay!
