The Bachelorette<\/em><\/a> season 21 lead Jenn Tran<\/strong><\/a> was in for an unexpected surprise when her ex-boyfriend Matt Rossi<\/strong> showed up to win her back.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor him to come here is just a big shock,\u201d Jenn, 26, said during the Monday, July 29, episode of The Bachelorette<\/em>. \u201cWe dated three years ago. Matt is not the toxic ex I\u2019m referring to [when I talk about an ex on the show]. He\u2019s not the one who messed me up a little bit. We recently reconnected in the past few months as friends \u2014 or so I thought as friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matt explained that he was in Colombia for two weddings, but missed Jenn so he flew to see her in New Zealand. Jenn, who dated Matt on and off after their initial relationship around 2020, began challenging him.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou could\u2019ve said this before I left,\u201d she said, to which he replied, \u201cI did say it but I didn\u2019t say it as grandly as this I guess.\u201d<\/p>\n

While some have hopes of rekindling, others are there to send a message to the lead. During season 24, Merissa Pence arrived on Peter Weber\u2018s date with Victoria Fuller to warn him. Not only had she dated [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While conversing, Matt dropped the L-word. \u201cI really do love you,\u201d he said, as Jenn exclaimed, \u201cMatthew?!\u201d<\/p>\n

While Jenn now has 11 other suitors vying for her affection, Matt shared that he\u2019d love to be part of her journey on the show.<\/p>\n

Months before she began filming<\/a> The Bachelorette<\/em>, Jenn took to TikTok<\/a> to explain that she began dating a man \u2014 whom she refers to as \u201cweiner boy\u201d because of his dog \u2014 after moving to Boston.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJust over one month away from Jenn Tran\u2018s premiere of The Bachelorette, ABC is confirming the official cast of contestants. On Monday, June 3, the network dropped names, photos and bios for the 25 men competing on season 21, and Us Weekly is breaking down the highlights. The Bachelorette season 16 and Bachelor in Paradise [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWeiner boy and I start going out and I\u2019m completely head over heels in love with him. I wanna marry weiner boy, I wanna be Mrs. Weiner at this point,\u201d Jenn recalled in the December 2023 video. \u201cWhich really sucks, because three months later weiner boy dumps me and I\u2019m completely in shambles. I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m going to do. This is the first real relationship that I\u2019ve ever had out of college.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jenn explained that the breakup prompted her to take an impromptu trip to Miami, and she fell in love with the city. She subsequently applied to PA school in Miami, which ended up being the only school she got into.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf weiner boy wasn\u2019t born and didn\u2019t break my heart, I would not be fulfilling my dreams right now,\u201d Jenn said.<\/p>\n

Two months after Jenn uploaded the video, Matt confirmed his identity as \u201cweiner boy\u201d in a TikTok<\/a> of his own. In the video uploaded in February, Matt enlisted the help of his weiner dog to tell the story of how he met Jenn on Hinge.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe found this really cute, sweet girl named Jenn, totally out of his league,\u201d Matt explained from the perspective of his pooch. \u201cSomehow she gave him a chance, they hit it off and they started dating. Things started getting pretty serious and Jenn was ready to settle down but my dad just wasn\u2019t there yet.\u201d<\/p>\n
