Robert Downey Jr.<\/strong> wasn\u2019t the only one to make a surprise appearance<\/a> at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend. The Hollywood ties<\/a> of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris<\/strong> were deepened when she made an unexpected appearance at Saturday\u2019s panel centered on The Simpsons.<\/em><\/p>\n Series creator Matt Groening<\/strong> teased the appearance of a \u201csuperfan\u201d to the audience before showing video footage of the vice president quoting from the animated Fox show. In the clip, according to multiple<\/a> outlets<\/a>, Harris recites a line from the October 1996 episode \u201cTreehouse of Horror VII,\u201d in which Kang and Kodos impersonate then president Bill Clinton<\/strong> and Bob Dole at a 1996 presidential debate.<\/p>\n \u201cOur country should move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling toward freedom,\u201d Harris says in the clip, originally filmed in 2013, as reported by the AV Club<\/a>. The then California attorney general delivered the line as part of a University of Chicago scavenger hunt that saw students tasked with getting \u201can elected public official\u201d to quote the line \u201ceither on video or in person.\u201d At the end of the clip, which you can see below, Harris begins to laugh.<\/p>\n
