Everything is bigger in Texas!\u00a0Kane Brown<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Katelyn Brown <\/strong><\/a>took home the top honor of Video of the Year at the 2023 CMT Music Awards<\/a> on Sunday, April 2.<\/p>\n \u201cOh, my gosh! First off, I am so nervous,\u201d Katelyn, 30, said. \u201d This is all so new to me and when we recorded this song a year ago, I never in my life would ever think this was going to happen. But I just want to say thank you so much to my amazing husband. I love you. This is so special that we get to share this together every night, and I love you so much.\u201d<\/p>\n The Browns shared a kiss before Kane took the mic. \u201cI\u2019ll be quick. I just want to say thank you to the fans who voted,\u201d the Tennessee native, 29, said. \u201cI want to say thank you to Sony [and] my awesome manager, Martha. This is Alex Alvga<\/strong>. He moved here from Barcelona. He wanted to be a video director. He\u2019s done, like, all of my music videos. He\u2019s making the American Dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n The Video of the Year winners \u2014 who married in 2018 and share daughters Kingsley, 3, and Kodi, 14 months \u2014 were up against steep competition, beating out Blake Shelton<\/strong><\/a> (\u201cNo Body\u201d), Carrie Underwood<\/strong><\/a> (\u201cHate My Heart\u201d), Cody Johnson<\/strong> (\u201cHuman\u201d), HARDY<\/strong> featuring Lainey Wilson<\/strong> (\u201cWait in the Truck\u201d), married couple (\u201cThank God\u201d) and Morgan Wallen<\/strong><\/a> (\u201cYou Proof\u201d).<\/p>\n Before learning who took home the coveted trophy, fans were treated to a night of country music performances and genre-mixing duets.<\/p>\n Alanis Morissette<\/strong><\/a> was joined by the night\u2019s most-nominated artist, Wilson, 30, who earned four nominations for the 2023 show<\/a>. The twosome teamed up with Ingrid Andress<\/strong>, Madeline Edwards<\/strong> and Morgan Wade<\/strong> to sing Morissette\u2019s iconic 1995 hit \u201cYou Oughta Know\u201d for the crowd.<\/p>\n Carly Pearce<\/strong><\/a>, meanwhile, took the stage with Gwen Stefani<\/strong><\/a> for a country-pop duet that wowed fans. Shania Twain<\/strong><\/a>, who was honored with the 2023 CMT Equal Play Award, demanded attention when she sang for the rowdy audience \u2014 and that was just the tip of the iceberg.<\/p>\n For the first time in CMT Music Awards history, the awards show took place at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. The memorable occasion was cohosted by Kelsea Ballerini<\/strong><\/a> and Kane who have both become staples at the music event.<\/p>\n The \u201cMountain With a View\u201d songstress<\/a>, 30, has now emceed four CMT Music Awards, while the \u201cWhat Ifs\u201d crooner has been part of the hosting duo for three years.<\/p>\n As in years\u2019 past, fans waited all night long to see who would take home the Video of the Year title, a category that Underwood, 40, has dominated in recent history.<\/p>\n The \u201cBefore He Cheats\u201d songstress<\/a> had 25 CMT Music Wins \u2014 the most in the awards show\u2019s history \u2014 heading into the 2023 event after taking home the Video of the Year trophy last year<\/a>. She shared the 2022 honor with Jason Aldean<\/strong><\/a> for their duet, \u201cIf I Didn\u2019t Love You.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThank you so much,\u201d Underwood said in April 2022. \u201cThank you, fans.
