Epic Games plans to bring Fortnite<\/em> to the third-party iOS app store AltStore PAL, which is only available in the EU. The company made the announcement in a Thursday blog post<\/a> about its strategy for mobile stores, and it says it expects to announce support for \u201cat least two other third-party stores soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n While Epic says that it plans to \u201cbring our own mobile games including Fortnite<\/em> to other mobile stores that give all developers a great deal,\u201d it didn\u2019t provide a specific timeline. In addition to Fortnite<\/em>, Epic also plans to bring Rocket League Sideswipe<\/em><\/a> <\/em>to AltStore PAL, spokesperson Natalie Munoz tells The Verge<\/em>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n When reached for comment, AltStore\u2019s Riley Testut pointed to Epic\u2019s post and said that \u201cwe\u2019re very excited to be bringing Fortnite<\/em> and more to AltStore PAL.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The company is also working on bringing Fortnite<\/em> to iOS in the EU<\/a>, which it says will happen \u201csoon,\u201d and launching its own app store on iOS and Android<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Epic also announced that \u201cwe will be ending distribution partnerships with mobile stores that serve as rent collectors without competing robustly and serving all developers fairly, even if those stores offer us a special deal for our own games.\u201d Epic is presumably talking about Apple and Google here, given the company\u2019s disputes with both<\/a> companies<\/a> over their app store practices. Munoz declined to comment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Epic also plans to pull Fortnite<\/em> and its mobile games from Samsung\u2019s Galaxy Store. The company cites two factors as to why. One is Samsung\u2019s \u201cAuto Blocker\u201d feature that blocks sideloading by default (though you can turn the feature off, according to 9to5Google<\/em><\/a>). Another is \u201cpublic revelations in the US Epic v. Google lawsuit of ongoing Google proposals to Samsung to restrain competition in the market for Android app distribution,\u201d presumably referring to initiatives like Project Banyan<\/a>, which Google gave up on<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
