Britney Spears<\/strong><\/a> is hopeful about reconciling with her two sons<\/a>, multiple sources exclusively tell Us Weekly.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cBritney has been reaching out to her sons more and wants to start spending more time with them when they are ready,\u201d one insider tells Us.<\/i><\/p>\n

Spears, 42, shares sons Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline<\/strong>. The teens have been estranged from their mom in recent years, with Jayden claiming to Australia\u2019s 60 Minutes <\/i><\/a>in 2022 that they had \u201cemotional trauma\u201d stemming from their relationship with the pop star.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Mom has struggled giving us both attention and showing us equal love and I don\u2019t think she showed enough to Preston and I feel really bad for that,\u201d Jayden told the outlet. \u201cWe\u2019ve both been through so much pressure in the past that this is our safe place now, to process all the emotional trauma we\u2019ve been through to heal, heal our mental state.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBritney Spears may be a global superstar, but when it comes to her boys \u2014 she\u2019s just Mom. Spears welcomed sons Sean Preston and Jayden with ex-husband Kevin Federline in September 2005 and September 2006, respectively. The singer and Federline divorced in 2007 after three years of marriage. Following her split from Federline, Spears endured [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He added: \u201cIf I complained, she went after [my brother]. I feel guilty, so I am there for him. Mom has treated me better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spears, for her part, refuted the claims, asserting via Instagram that she \u201ctried [her] best at being the best person [she could] be\u201d despite a conservatorship over her estate and person. The guardianship, run by Britney\u2019s father, Jamie Spears<\/strong>, and Jodi Montgomery<\/strong>, was terminated in 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sean Preston, and Jayden James, meanwhile, currently live in Hawaii<\/a> with dad Federline, 46.<\/p>\n

\u201cSean Preston and Jayden are at the age where they\u2019re busy with school, friends and trying to adjust to their new life,\u201d a second source previously told Us <\/i>in May,<\/a> noting the boys occasionally respond to Britney\u2019s outreach.<\/p>\n

Britney is also leaning on her brother, Bryan Spears<\/strong>. (Jamie, 72, and ex-wife Lynne Spears<\/strong> share Britney, Bryan, 47, and Jamie Lynn, 33.)<\/p>\n

\u201cBritney has been very happy reconnecting<\/a> with her brother, he\u2019s been a very grounding influence,\u201d the first source adds. \u201cBritney has been planning a couple other vacations for her and her brother.<\/p>\n

While Britney is prioritizing her family, she \u201chasn\u2019t been interested\u201d in lining up any new work projects, according to the insider. A third source tells Us <\/i>that Britney\u2019s home life is \u201cpretty normal.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/i>She\u2019s always on the phone and has people around her who love and comfort her and are there for her,\u201d the source says. \u201cShe talks to her brother a lot. He\u2019s been living with her for the last couple months.\u201d<\/p>\n

Britney is keeping busy by writing songs \u201cfor herself\u201d and running her Instagram, which the second source notes is her version of \u201cwork.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s also talked about other things she wants to do with her life \u2014 and even she\u2019s talked about wanting to be a dance teacher,\u201d the insider adds. \u201cShe can do whatever she puts her mind to and it\u2019s something she\u2019s interested in.\u201d<\/p>\n
