The comic, 45, spoke out after retired NFL star Tom, 46, told \u2018The Pivot\u2019 podcast in May he regretted agreeing to the event as his children were \u201caffected\u201d by the gags.<\/p>\n
During the live-streamed 5 May roast from the Kia Forum, California, Tom was targeted with a string of close-to-the-knuckle gags about his divorce from Brazilian supermodel Gisele B\u00fcndchen, 44, with whom he has children Benjamin, 14, and 11-year-old Vivian.<\/p>\n
Kevin told the Bleacher Report about Tom\u2019s reaction: \u201cI can side with time and see where he\u2019s coming from and just him wanting to protect the idea of family and the conversation attached to that. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s probably where that\u2019s coming from.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd you know, I\u2019m not privy to whatever he dealt with after, so I know his response and saying something about it was a result of possibly that.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTom told \u2018The Pivot\u2019 he \u201cdidn\u2019t like\u201d the way his children were \u201caffected\u201d by the jokes made about his exes Gisele and Bridget Moynahan.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cIt\u2019s the hardest part about the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realise, \u2018I wouldn\u2019t do that again,\u2019 because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nFather-of-three Tom also has 16-year-old son John \u201cJack\u201d Edward Thomas with his actress ex Bridget, 52.<\/p>\n
\nKevin added: \u201cWhen he says he regretted doing it\u2026 I think he\u2019s saying, \u2018I could have tapered it a little differently, or (had) a conversation pre-(roast), of like, \u2018Guys, let\u2019s go and do this, but let\u2019s not touch this or this\u2019.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe idea of going all in and just saying, \u2018I don\u2019t care, because I know the world would love to see me being on the receiving end of s*** because I\u2019m Tom Brady and I\u2019ve been at the highest stage all my life\u2019 \u2013 I think it was that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
