Elvis Presley<\/a>\u2019s ex-wife\u2019s lawyer Marty Singer filed a lawsuit on 18 July claiming a woman named Brigitte Kruse \u2013 and a string of others \u2013 took advantage of the 79-year-old and stole $1 million from her as part of financial abuse.<\/p>\nBrigitte\u2019s legal team have now told People in a statement the filing is \u201cretaliatory\u201d for one filed from them against Priscilla in 2023.<\/p>\n
They said: \u201cThe suit filed is a retaliatory lawsuit due to the one filed by Priscilla\u2019s business partners last year.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are confident that the facts will speak for themselves and justice will prevail.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt saddens all of us who dropped our lives to provide aid to a woman who needed help and she is now attempting to use her celebrity status to ruin the lives of kind, hardworking people.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe will continue to focus on our business and look forward to our day in court. The truth will come out by way of evidence and not rumours. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThere will be no further comment at this time as we respect the judicial process.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAlong with Brigitte, Priscilla\u2019s attorney\u2019s filing also named Kevin Fialko, Vahe Sislyan, Lynn Walker Wright and Priscilla Presley Partners.<\/p>\n
\nIt claimed Brigitte, who is the founder of Kruse GWS Auctions, controlled her finances and forced her into a form of \u201cindentured servitude\u201d by \u201cgaining her trust\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nThe suit said Brigitte also isolated Priscilla from \u201cthe most important people in her life\u201d, and duped her into \u201cbelieving that they would take care of her\u201d personally and financially.<\/p>\n
\nIt added: \u201cThey convinced (Priscilla) that all of her former advisors were either deceitful or incompetent, and that she was leaving millions of dollars on the table as the result of their mismanagement.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe documents also claim by \u201cisolating\u201d Priscilla and \u201cimmersing themselves in every aspect of her life\u201d, the defendants were able to \u201cfraudulently induce\u201d her into giving them power of attorney, control over her family and personal trusts, and \u201ccontrol over her bank accounts\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nPriscilla met Brigitte through mutual connections to discuss selling Elvis memorabilia, according to the court documents. <\/p>\n
\nBrigitte then allegedly \u201cquickly\u201d embedded herself in Priscilla\u2019s life and they began working together by the end of 2021.<\/p>\n
\nPriscilla claims she created companies on Brigitte\u2019s advice where her associates received 80 per cent of her income and she was left with minority shares in the company. <\/p>\n
\nShe also claims that the defendants withdrew $40,000 from the bank account of her son Navarone Garcia for \u201cno legitimate reason\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nPriscilla is seeking to have the license and operating agreements for the \u201csham\u201d companies taken back and to block the defendants from having access to her financial accounts.<\/p>\n
\nBrigitte sued Priscilla for an alleged breach of contract in 2023 after they formed Priscilla Presley Partners.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
